I had to laugh:
Spent a couple of hours removing part of a path in the garden. Took up the flagstones and there was a concrete base. Took that up and what did I find underneath it ?

I think us Brits are good at it too. Take the simplistic nature of some of the place names in Australia. My favourite is 'Lake Disappointment' One can only imagine that after a two or three days hike, and bereft of water, the explorer was rather miffed to find the place had ran dry.

Just be grateful you weren’t there when he discovered Cape Horn.

The French word for Paperclip is Trombone ..

This guy from Sussex, Marcos Jarvis, beat terminal stage 4 liver cancer. Doctors had said that he had just months to live, there was no cure. I only found this story this week when he was interviewed on R5 from 1:25:20.
