Discussed this yesterday and since I can't affect the result I came to the conclusion that being a positive person, I'll take whatever joy is on offer. If they draw, they both drop points. If one team loses, I'll laugh at them.

Both lose.

If not, I suppose it would be funnier if Palace are in the relegation places over the international break, before they start their UCL palaces charge.

Voted draw, but in reality the more that the new found optimism is wiped from the faces of the Selhurst Park attendees the better.

I don't expect us to get to qualify for Europe, but that has to be our dream, and if we are to make it, we need teams like Chelsea dropping points. Maybe poor performances all around and a draw is best?

I think Palace will finish in the top 10 maybe push for Europe if Nketia hits the ground running and Eze stays fit.

Bit early isn't it?

Hear me out.

I'm not sure I'd admit it to Plaace fans I know but I think they have the potential to have strong season.

They normally have one or two exceptional players backed up by relative dross and suffer as a result. This year they've recruited well, held onto some key players and have a spine of players that are easily top 6 players.

Wharton, Eze, Nketia, Guehi and Chabolah are top 6 players IMO, if they stay fit and the rest of the squad performs Palace are miles ahead of the bottom 8 in terms of quality.

Glasner is a decent coach and on paper I think this is their strongest squad since they came up.

Fair enough. Guehi and Eze yes. Wharton could become one. But if Chabolah and Nketia were top 6 players, I'd expect a top 6 club to have been in for them. The top 6 is a really competitive group now.

Let's just both hope your fears are misplaced.

Chelsea win

They have too many resources to not be a contender for too much longer.

Palace have some good signigs, which may encourage their other stars to stay on longe rthan they otherwise would have done.

After today they have a couple of winnable fixtures.
Best keep them on 0 points until Mid September, to rattle a few of them.

4-4 draw, 2 sendings off each, game abandoned and they have to replay it.
This, but Palace are winning 10 - 0 when the match is abandoned and the replay is a bore draw.
