The point may well be that Naylor isn't going to go out on a limb and risk looking the fool. So if he tweets then something is pretty nailed on.

As I said above, Naylor et al get told by the club so they can have their story ready to roll as soon as the official announcement is made. He rarely "finds this sort of thing out", he is simply "told".

When it's a really big coup the club may not tell anyone for fear of a leak. See; CMS, Vicente etc where NSC (and/or NSCers) were reporting it, Naylor was denying it, and it happened.
