Am I correct in thinking that with 4 weeks to go they haven’t made a single addition to their senior (Championship) squad?
The levels of pessimism/realism on here compared to the optimism/delusion of Leeds social media are interesting. At the equivalent stage in 2017 (after an identical points haul in the Championship) we’d signed Groß, Ryan and Suttner but lots were worrying that we weren’t being active enough in the window. Can you imagine the bed wetting if we’d got to mid July having not signed anyone, Hughton out of contract and with Lewis Dunk leaving?

He is 12/1 but poch must be driving to Barcelona right now surely. Obviously would show Leeds are a bigger club than Barcelona since bielsa is the best manager alive right now.

Sky reporting this morning that him signing with Leeds is now very close so looks like Barcelona will have been pipped by a bigger club

I'm not bullsh1tting about my ignorance on a lot of world football, as you'll know by my results in the first lockdown quiz when Estonia were serial losers. I've never heard of Newells fc till this thread either and still know and care nothing about them. But I'm not convinced some of the knowledge about Bielsa hasn't been generated since joining Leeds rather than his profile seeping in to the consciousness prior to that. His reputation certainly outweighs his achievements and being an international team manager doesn't imply football greatness. Just look at some of the clunkers England have had.
That's about the 5th time they've circulated that news 'story' since fluking promotion.

The thing I don’t understand about Bielsa is apparently he is all about ‘preparation’ and planning.
Yet over the shortest close season ever he has spent all of it messing about on signing a new contract.
I’m sure he will sign it and stay.... but it doesn’t say a lot about his commitment or confidence in the project does it ? If it doesn’t start well I can see him quitting by November

i cant quite see Barca going for Bielsa (has Pochettino written all over it). but will be most amusing is if he engaged is discussion with them before settling for Leeds. no, the most amusing will be after discussion he doesnt sign for Leeds either.

As has been pointed out ad nauseam on here and elsewhere he is widely regarded by peers as something else when it comes to player development but he is also famously erratic, pedantic and eccentric and has shown himself to be capable of prolonged periods of turgid and indifferent performances by some of his (very capable) teams.
He took quite a lot of persuading to take Ben White on loan and there seems to have been something of an exodus from the Leeds coaching staff despite a competent promotion campaign.
He’s definitely a bit of an odd bod which is why Leeds and their weird fans are having such a love in.
And he STILL hasn’t committed to them despite pre season starting this week. All very strange.

I am genuinely curious, have Leeds started preseason yet? I mean is there anyone left to organise training or is the tea lady taking care of it?
Poch has said very clearly, previously, that under no circumstances would he ever manage Barcelona, Arsenal or Rosario

Crikey, shouldn't that be about Eddie be lined up for a promotion from the Under 23 role he hasn't been offered yet? Bit risky that. They'd probably be advised to go for a joint management of Pepsi and Klopp.

They have completed a few signings I believe, but no bonafide first teamers on the face of it.
They are signings who we would consider “development” players. That may not end up being the case, but how it appears.
I would however cut them a little slack In this regard. Most teams haven’t done much recruitment yet (eg, like fellow promoted West Brom).
It’s a nice change that we’re so ahead of the game in our end of season business already.

So aside from this, spectacular achievement in the game, what else has he won in his 40 odd years of management?
