Squit? I like it Harry.

Btw OP - my post was meant to be tongue in cheek. You may also have a
confounding effect that I'd imagine the median age on here is probably quite high vis-a-vis twatter or whatever they call it .
I mean I'm only 22 and that might be quite young for this forum. ;)
Only 22?
Crikey.
I have to salute you :salute:
While expressing extreme envy.
Extreme.

:lolol:

Edit: envy especially for your loquacious debut on NSC eleven years ago,
when you were aged eleven.
Mozartesque.

Is your survey related to the men's game? As I feel you are likely to get quite different responses between the men's and women's game.
Solely the mens game, I feel if I included the women's game there would be way too much to talk about and the word count is only 10,000 haha

Done.

Most of the questions are OK, but there is a big difference between what goes on inside stadia and what happens outside. You need to capture the distinction in your survey or you will end up with too many false negative reports about what its like these days, or too many false positives about what it is like inside stadia.
Noted mate thanks for the feedback

Done.

Is the dissertation Brighton focused or Football generally ? The reason I'm asking is that my kids, never big Albion fans still have great 'Pride' coming from Brighton even though they don't live here anymore. I suspect the difference between geographical locations, let alone teams, will be huge.

Good luck

Done. The issue I have is that I've witnessed homophobia towards us - but it's the same
grounds every time (very small numbner) and the stewards do nowt. Not worth the hassle to them.

Just made similar points when completing the survey:
- chanting more or less died out in grounds but not that uncommon on trains/roads outside
- it’s also appears to come out more when losing to “teams like Brighton”
- which makes me wonder if we’re more sensitive when we lose?

I do think it strange that I've been with my partner for over 40 years and what has happened in our bedroom has remained completely private.

Yet there are people who are entirely focused on that, and they're not the weird ones

I’d like to have seen a question on whether, or how, the level of abuse has changed much. This would only be of relevance to older supporters, admittedly. I don’t notice much homophobia these days at all TBH apart from the very occasional isolated drunken shout at away games. It used to be far worse. I know we’re encouraged to feel in constant despair about how terrible things are but actually, many things have changed for the better. An area of more concern mentioned briefly in the survey is about why players themselves seem reluctant to publicly identify as gay.

I mean I'm only 20 and don't really use fan forums mainly instagram and twitter

Watch out for the raptors.

Stick around though, Twitter and Instagram melts your brain. NSC is a more sustainable type of chewing gum torture.

Very interesting you didn't ask in your poll if the pollster is gay or not. I would imagine that would really sway the answers they give.
Agree that this would have been an additional interesting bit of analysis to check if there was a significant difference in answers. You didn't ask if we attend games at different clubs. I suspect Albion supporters have probably experienced more homophobic abuse than most.

Also, it is good practice to include a Participant Information section at the beginning and require participants to agree they've read it and understood it. You are cleverly avoiding collecting any personal information about us and thereby avoiding the need for ethical approval.

Good luck - will you post a summary of your analysis, please?
