[Football] Do we have an issue with Newport?

Got chatting to a couple of Newport fans who seemed to have a serious hatred for us ever since that red card, saying it was deliberate and unnecessary.

How do we feel about Newport?

Are those two Newport fans a minority or does anyone know any Newport fans who think different?

I think it's more Newport have an issue with us.

All stems from the Calderon sending off in the League Cup game in August 2013. Their player broke his ankle and they claim Calde went over the top etc, but the red card actually got overturned on appeal. It was a fifty/fifty challenge and I don't think Calde ever actually connected with their player, but rather the impact of them both connecting with the ball at the same time did the damage. The Newport players own fault for having weak ankles.

Edinburgh was a bit of a twat in the dug out that night, got a lot of abuse from Brighton fans sat in that area.

So deliberate and unnecessary that the red card was rescinded: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/23619966 and even Edinburgh said that there was no malice or intent. It was a horrible accident, and the sound in the stadium was sickening. Everyone was shaken and the ref reacted to the injury, not the challenge. Had Caldy been the one injured, he'd have given the foul and the caution the other way. To be honest, our team didn't recover from the shock. Their's was inspired by anger and had it not happened, they would probably have lost the game. Edinburgh stupidly thought that the Brighton fans were booing the injured player. It was the ref's decision that was being booed.

I think that fanned the fuel of at least of some of the dislike that formed views that I heard

Yes, he mouthed off loudly to the media straight after the game. He was going nuts at the time and probably needed to find an excuse for his anger having seen the replay and realised that he'd called a horrible accident completely wrong and couldn't justify a condemnation of Inigo's challenge.
