such a mid-curve take. tariffs are not done company by company, they are on the product group. dont understand the need to invent theories about the motivation, seems odd desire to try and second guess Trump like he's got to be doing something else more clever than he says.
Assuming it’s stupidity is tempting. And possibly correct. But it’s also a thought-terminator - it perfectly possible for something to be utterly dumb and calculated at the same time.

He’s already tried to overthrow US democracy once. Why are some so determined to assume that he won’t try again?

Senator Chris Murphy understands the game being played.

Best illustrated by a company that’s done a LOT of ring kissing since November.

The chap Mrs Bodian works with often moans about the quality of the 'Chinese screws' and other such products in our local hardware shop. He reckons that the Trump tariffs are a good thing, as it will put the price of Chinese screws (etc) up and we'll buy American ones instead.

Don't know where to begin explaining to him that it won't happen....

He's also moaning about the 2% increase in NI - despite the fact that it won't apply to his business, as he benefits from the £10k allowance, so doesn't pay employer NI anyway.

A really long read which I haven't yet finished but does seem to show what is driving him and his insanity. Also scary and he really wouldn't lift a finger to help NATO 'allies'. Really not much hope he will do right by Ukraine as to him they are irrelevant.

If there is one thing I really detest, is a cheap screw. Hope Mrs Bodian gets treated to a better one in the future!

Wow. I'm usually a quick reader, but i took my time to read that carefully, and it's worth the time. Everything makes sense. I wholeheartedly recommend reading that article.

I tried but it is really a) very badly b) structured with too much italic c) type and long meandering sentences with bold clauses that 1) don’t need to be in this manner and a) some more italics here I feel.

I know what you mean but he did make some interesting points so still worth a read imo. Placing China in Oceania and India in South East Asia was rather strange though

Same with Brazil and no mention of Africa which I'd guess he expects it to be divided up between the the 'big' powers. It does seem to explain what drives him and why he thinks so much of Russia.

Tremendous day for the USA and the world. Biden has been a disaster, I'm not convinced Harris would have been any better given her performance in interviews where she had no idea what she was talking about. No idea why Michelle Obama bottled coming back as I think she may have been a decent bet.

God bless America.
You seem to have gone quiet on this. During the 4-year administration under Biden , the so-called disaster, major US and world indices gradually increased by 50%. Over the last 2 business days they've all slumped by 15-20% (and counting).

A tremendous day for the USA and the world indeed. Do you have a pension?
