Honestly, the words that come out of this guys mouth... 🤦‍♂️

President Trump said Thursday that Russia would be making a concession toward peace if it agrees not to take over Ukraine, as the U.S. president has struggled to negotiate even a limited ceasefire deal between Moscow and Kyiv.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office during a meeting with Norway’s prime minister, Trump was asked what concessions Russia has “offered up thus far to get to the point where you’re closer to peace.”

“Stopping the war, stopping from taking the whole country, pretty big concession,” Trump responded.

No, that will be the guy who invaded Ukraine. Trump is doing a good job of being the awestruck apprentice though.
Putin is a menace too but has nothing apart from nukes and a broken economy in a failed state

Trump is a menace to world security, a menace to climate, a menace to world economy, a menace the defenseless poor in the developing world the list goes on.

So far all he has done in create chaos and really achieved f**k all

Just dropping this in here. It's from an American couple who came here last year, I've known them for years, both aged in their late 60's and retired. We send messages on a weekly basis just telling each other what we are up to.
Afraid to Travel.
It is getting so bad politically that we are unsure if we want to book any travel until the end of someone’s term. It is pretty embarrassing. Every day we wake up, saying, maybe things will settle down and then, bam, we are hit with something totally off the wall. The stock market is bouncing like a tennis ball. The world is pulling back and saying WTF and I don’t blame them one bit.
We have former friends who won’t talk to us because we didn’t support him. Very few here in Nebraska to complain to. One son is a supporter and anti-vaccer. The other goes livid at the mention of Elon and gives a 30 minute lecture on how stupid they all are.
What do people think of the average US citizen? Do they know we did not all vote for him? I know many U.S. citizens are still traveling, but it would just take one more silly move on his part to make it really difficult.
Retaliation is a real possibility if they keep detaining people entering for questionable reasons. We are wondering how hard it will be when our cruise to Alaska ends in Vancouver British Columbia.
I bet you guys are glad that your politics are out of the news for a while.

On the home front, Bob says he could use a good ale. He even misses Wetherspoon!
Such a nice couple.

Trump Faces New Impeachment Problems

A local political party does not, under the Constitution, have the power to impeach the president of the United States. But that doesn’t mean they’re not going to try.

The Libertarian Party of Travis County, Tex., has passed a resolution calling for the impeachment and removal from office of President Donald Trump.

Trump, in May of 2024, addressed the Libertarian Party’s national convention, although he was greeted with a divided reception. Some showed up to the speech wearing MAGA gear, other booed Trump, for such reasons as “his COVID-19 policies, running up towering federal deficits and lying about his political record,” per an Associated Press story. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., during the brief period that he was running for president as an independent, also addressed that convention.

While the Republicans being in control in Congress would seem to prevent an impeachment inquiry from being launched, some Democratic members of the House have been pushing the idea.

Rep. Al Green (D-TX), the lawmaker who was kicked out of Trump’s joint address to Congress in March, vowed at a rally in early April to bring articles of impeachment against Trump “within the next 30 days.”

Green had introduced impeachment resolutions, different from the ones that ultimately went forward, during Trump’s first term. He had also talked about doing so early on in Trump’s second term, after he proposed a U.S. takeover of Gaza.

'Needs to be stopped': 'Embarrassed' Trump voter explains why supporters have gone silent | Opinion

On my SiriusXM program, I’ve taken note that in recent weeks no MAGA people are calling in to defend Trump. Most of my callers are progressive, but a few times a week I’d hear from Trump supporters defending Trump.

We certainly have received calls from some Trump voters who are sorry for their vote. But why aren’t MAGA calling up to defend him?

As with other callers who changed their mind on Trump, I of course had a lot of questions, beginning with: Trump said he was going to do all of this, so did you not believe him?

Rob’s answer, like those of the others like who’ve changed their minds on Trump, won’t satisfy you. But as I’ve said before, I don’t push these people too hard because I’d rather they agree to vote for Democrats to halt Trump—which Rob did—rather than push them away. We can always argue later.

Then he even said he’s looking at Bernie Sanders and AOC as a presidential ticket, seeing them touring red states and getting huge crowds. I know—the mind boggles.

As I said earlier, learn the words to the Canadian National Anthem and say you're from Canada.

Trump 28.
There is nothing illegal with JD Vance running with Trump as his side kick. Then, on day 3 JD resigns and Trump takes over for 4 more years.
I believe that one of the requisite criteria to be nominated on the VP ticket, is that you must be eligible to stand as President? Trump would not satisfy that criteria (as things stand).

How about this then. The constitution states “no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of president shall be eligible to that of vice-president of the United States.”
BUT “They could argue that Trump isn’t constitutionally ineligible to serve as president — only to be elected president”

You never know with the US Supreme Court making the final decision.

Chief Justice Roberts really needs to grow some big balls!!!!!

Asked and answered. That is not possible (currently).

Given that the Supreme Court have voted unanimously against a couple of obviously unconstitutional acts, it seems unlikely a majority of them are going to allow Trump and his band of incompetent idiots to re-write a section of the constitution. Even they are opposed to that.

No, hang on. He hasn't has he?

Sorry, you were right. He has achieved f**k all that could be viewed as positive either for the US or the rest of the world.
