Definitely hope both can do it. Borough should be up there being professional and all so it definitely feels like promotion for Worthing would be a bigger deal and far more impressive.

But where's their support coming from ? Their owner had a rant about his perceived apathy of the town that revealed he hadn't read the room about how supporters evolve.
Yeh bit of an issue in Eastbourne with 3 reasonably well supported clubs and Town and United being a lot more central than Borough

Worthing's ground is beautifully central

Easter Monday is the big proper derby away to Peacehaven & Telscombe. Peacehaven currently 8th in the table and 1 point more than Newhaven in 9th.

If I lived in Eastbourne i would rather watch Town than Boro, been to both grounds and much prefer The Saffrons.

Quite often pop down to the Saffrons, much appeal for Town center grounds with pubs to match..

Eastbourne Utd Oval ground very smart now, a lot of money spent there...

See you in the Lowland league next year I guess. Good to see an old name on their way back up. In other news its a yes to Eastbourne v Worthing on Friday. However I can't see Truro dropping any more points this season now.
Clydebank aren't up yet as they still have to negotiate the Lowland League play-off. Three-match round robin play-off between Clydebank (West of Scotland Football League winners), East of Scotland Football League winners (Musselburgh Athletic, 10 points clear with 5 to play) & South of Scotland Football League winners (Newton Stewart top with one to play, however, Lochar Thistle in 5th have 5 games left so 4 of the top 5 can still win the league).

I haven’t been to United’s ground since they did the work, I still preferred their location to Boro’s ground.

I haven’t been to EB since they played Dover in the cup, over 10 years ago I’m sure.

Eastbourne United generally make Peacehaven as welcome as a fart in a space suit and I think the ground is dull, although it’s street location has a lower league Northern club feel about it on exiting so I like that.

As for the Saffron's, I’ve been there several times and it usually welcoming, there’s a couple of good pubs nearby and IIRC the sun has always been shining.

Boro’s ground is too far out of town, last time I went my youngest was playing there in a youth match and thought the parking at the ground filled up pretty quickly. The road going down the side of the ground to another unmade car park is too narrow, cars were trying come out from the earlier match when others were trying to drive in.
Not sure what it’s going to be like in that area when Worthing turn up.
Fair walk from the station and not sure what the bus service is like.

Saffrons has a nice feel about it, not a bad ground for that level, probably would be better if they had the clubhouse inside, I believe it’s not just used by the football club though.

Yep it's used by all the sports there, think it's primarily the cricket club that's the main tenant

Neither here nor there
Eastbourne manager said recently that owner wants to build a new stadium in Eastbourne. I will be there Good Friday cheering on 'The Sports'. Club are recommending people get tickets asap as expecting to sell out the 3650 capacity (rumours of 1,000 Worthing fans expected in that).
I can find a news story suggesting redevelopment of Priory Lane but nothing to suggest a new stadium at a different location. Is that your understanding?

Fair walk? Which station are you referring to?

The Langney owner can't seem to grasp these truths. If you are a non league fan in Eastbourne you will already be invested in Town, United or Borough. Even if Borough somehow made the football league you wont automatically see hordes of United or Town fans defecting. Similarly, you'll have lots of Eastbourne residents like myself who are Albion fans and then also people who travel up to support the array of London clubs.

Ultimately, not sure where the Borough owner thinks he's going to grow the big fan base he thinks his club deserves? His remarks about the town were a bit scathing

Eastbourne in the town, it’s a fair old trek from there.

I know Pevensea & Westham is nearer, not sure of the exact distance from there but looks like a few miles.

You could walk from Pevensey and Westham but no chance Eastbourne station. Alternatively, people can hire my driveway for £10 for the day 5 mins walk to ground! :)

Strathspey Thistle in The Highland League for me. Season finished yesterday and we finished second bottom to Rothes - ending up 6 points ahead of them thus avoiding the relegation play off.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UP THE STRATHY JAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
