I'm sure there was another challenge soon after that was borderline red too, could be mistaken but was it Henderson?

It seemed pretty obvious that Klopp had sent them out to get stuck in.
Clearly didn't want a repeat of the league match.

Lots of overly physical challengers and quite a few got away from them.
Ref was appalling all game.

I was outraged by Konate's challenge on Mac Allister, seemed to be a forearm smash to the back of the neck.
Haven't seen it back yet.

It was. He was also not running in a line conducive to getting to the ball first, he veers to the right away from the ball to foul Mac. Blatant yellow (2nd) or arguably even a straight red if you could argue Mac had a goals scoring chance.

I don’t want to stick up for Liverpool but they don’t normally seem to be like this under Klipperty. However, after the schooling they get two weeks ago, there must be an awful lot of frustration and jealousy about how good our players and systems are. Cheating and fouling was one of the few options left to them in order to affect the game.

TalkSport last night had several pundits absolutely slating the ref as "terrible" for not giving red cards when everyone could see two were necessary. Also asking why VAR was so shockingly bad. Even for a station that prides itself on being strident in it's views I've not heard them be so universally derisive about the performance of the officials before or make it such a talking point. Will be interesting to see what sanctions, if any, the officials get.

In hindsight, I’m pleased Konate wasn’t shown a red. Against 10 men they may have parked the bus and we’d be in replay territory. Who knows, but at least with 11 it kept it open and more to our advantage.

I'm still furious about that 'challenge'. It was an absolute disgrace. Anyone that's played the game knows he was only going to do one thing when he lunged like that and that was cause an injury. Rightly Fabinho looked sorry afterwards the twat, it was a disgusting thing to do to a fellow professional, he needs a ban.

And as for the referee/VAR?! Joke. Pathetic amateurs.

How desperate must Liverpool FC be to need the resort to Sunday league tactics.

How the once mighty have fallen.

The only thing more shocking than the fouls was how we were let down by the officials, every single one of them.

I can only assume Swarbrick said oh don't worry about sending Fabhinio off as there's only a few minutes to go and we don't want to upset Mr Klopp.

The whole thing was Mickey mouse including the try and get Mitomas goal offside by letting 2 finger Freddie draw the offside lines.

He didn’t look sorry he looked guilty as feck.
As he knew he was going to be sent off!!

And then was half smiling, and disbelieving as he hadn’t been sent off

Astounding incompetence by the ref and especially by VAR

That's what I saw. He knew it was a sending off as soon as he had done it and said as much to his teammates. He couldn't believe when VAR didn't overrule

I only think he was sorry that he was going to get a red. Didn't see any attempt to check on his wellbeing
