Could all be so positive but for us missing about 10 decent chances over the past 3 or 4 games, fine lines!

What the OP doesn’t seem to be able to grasp is that it’s possible to be positive about the overall state of the club relative to our history and frustrated and annoyed at the current run of form that has seen what was promising to be one of the best in our history (if not the best) disappear in the space of three weeks.

Until people can grasp that nuance perhaps they should refrain from starting patronising reads.
This.

Success breeds expectation. It's perfectly possible to have (and expect) high expectation of the journey forward whilst remembering where we came from.

Progress may not be linear, however, I very much doubt TB subscribes to the 'Meh, good enough' school of thought.

For me, we chose last summer, to replace a generational coach with a PE Teacher. I guess we'll see.

Before this season began I think there were a majority of folks who felt that it is a transition season with new manager and players and that a top half finish and a decent cup run would be a good outcome. We ( hopefully ) will get that but the frustration comes from actually being on the edge of a decent European spot and falling short. And, perhaps, a sense that we can't yet quite see what style of play / formations we have transitioned to....

For several seasons we were very envious of teams who, with six games left, weren't sweating about relegation and could just enjoy the football until the end of the season. Mid table mediocrity doesn't feel as pleasant as had been expected !
We added some depth to the majority of last seasons squad, when won a few early games the word transitional season wasn’t a phrase on the board it appeared half way through the season when things weren’t going to well.

I don’t know about the language people used in pre season or at the start of the campaign but the pre season predictions certainly suggest most people expected a transition season. https://www.northstandchat.com/threads/where-will-we-finish-in-the-league.409018/

RDZ generational ? No English teams or big name teams wanted him. Couldn’t be that generational.

Every tweet or post on here is negative.

The players are crap, the open training day is crap, the managers crap, the terrace is crap, atmosphere is crap, food is crap.

Brighton fans are becoming so ungrateful. Most teams would kill to be in our position on and off the pitch yet we moan about everything.

I think a fair amount of tweets/posts are from new/foreign fans who have hopped onboard and think we should be winning the league but I even see older fans disgruntled. It’s very strange.

We have an amazing squad, stadium, local spirit (aitc), chairman, training ground, Some young lads trying to get atmosphere going in the north etc

We are all Brighton let’s get behind the club.

I love the Albion message boards, except for North Stand Chaps,

North Stand Chat is Greaaaaaaaaat!!!!

He's obviously leaving now we've blown Europa League. But hopefully not badly injured and we might give him a send off before the season ends.
Very certain based on reports that deliberately aren’t certain .

A “PE teacher” (actually a Bundesliga 2 champion coach) Who is so far doing better or as well in his first PL season than Frank, Silva, Iraola and Glasner - let alone Amorin, Ange and Potter and er better than the generational coach did last season.

Football is reactive, we are in poor form, people will always be negative then, win a game and everything will be fine. The internet is there for things to be discussed, so people are discussing why we didn't win.

Everyone knows what a good chairman, and state the club is in right now, everyone gets told every hour, everyone accepts that, doesn't mean you can't occasionally moan about something.
That is spot on. Also it's true that when we do hit a bit of poor form the ancillary issues (transport especially) become way more important. If we beat Liverpool 5-0 to qualify for Europe absolutely nobody* will moan about waiting for a train.

*Yeah, I'm sure there will be somebody. But they will be a very very lonely voice.
