Or no line, as we’ve seen a few times this seasonWhat you mean like to not play an insanely high line when all your defenders are lacking pace? Yeah, far too boring an idea, don't give up your day job.

Don't forget Hinsh was also out for weeks. At Leicester we played a defence with 2 midfielders in it. Hardly optimal conditionsIts crazy. These past couple of seasons have been terrible for injuries. No wonder our form has been up and down. We havent been able to maintain a settled 11. Kadioglu, Pervis, Dunk, Van Hecke, Webster, Veltman, Igor and Lamptey have all had numerous weeks out, and in some cases months. Its why I cant complain too much when results dont go our way. You take that many players away from any defence in the league and they will be leaking goals every week.
I think i would start 4 3 3Lamptey is also an “option”
So I think it’s a back line of
Wieffer, Veltman, Dunk, Estupinan
Baleba, Hinshelwood
Minteh, O Riley Mitoma
Welbeck
Subs: Steele, Cashin, Lamptey, Tasker, Ayari, Gomez, March , Adingra, Gruda,
Exactly. Totally understandable that we have, and will, concede goals.Don't forget Hinsh was also out for weeks. At Leicester we played a defence with 2 midfielders in it. Hardly optimal conditions
Mostly, fluid fast paced football comes when relationships are built within a settled starting 11, where each player knows where/when/how fast/on which foot the other player would like the ball played. Some of our slow play is as you describe frustrating, but some is inevitable with the constant changing of our 11 due to injuries.I promised to be positive rest of the season and this might sound a bit negative, but this is a genuine question:
Does "be patient in possession" mean "secure possession, let the opposition defence organise and the slowly pass the ball sideways trying to overload a small section of the final third / last 20m, try to get the ball to a player in an area were it might be more probable to score from and then hope someone in that area has a magic moment to put the ball in the back of the net"?
Quite often that seems to be the "modus operandi" even if we have have 3-v-2 or 4-v-3 we stop the attack and wait for everyone to get in and then start slowly going up the pitch. My intuition (and maybe some statistican can confirm or debunk this) is that you get a better chance scoring from quick attack or counter attack than slowly building up (City might be an exeption to this although I remeber them scoring against us from counters and/or from quick play from the back).
The stats say that FH is the most proactive manager in the PL on substitutionsWell, one of my general feelings about Fab, is that he can sometimes hesitate to make substitutions quickly.
I fear a scenario where a delayed substitution leads to another period on the sidelines.
Remember, the only managers Bloom has officially sacked are Hughton (because he wanted to change the style after a particularly turgid six-months) and Poyet (because [redacted for legal purposes]). He didn't even sack Hyypia because he know he sold him well short, squad-wise.
If Baleba plays CB then I think it’s a must that we have Hinsh in midfield to give us the necessary dynamism there. Partner with Gomez/ Ayari and MOR as number 10. Wieffer as right back.I don't think Veltman will start, a bit like Solly he'll be a great option to bring on at some point 2nd half.
I'm torn on the CB problem.
On one hand we missed Baleba in midfield v Leicester, my biggest critism that day of FH wasn't that he started him at CB but that he left him there. Vardy isn't exactly quick anymore, they were not really bothering us through the middle all game.
On the other hand West Ham do have pace up front, so we probably need Baleba there on Saturday now (if I'm honest I'm more worried right now about our other CB than I am Baleba....)
We have more options to cover CM than we do CB. So I 'think' I'd move Baleba to CB and play Wieffer and Ayari CM with MOR in the 10.
Once again though - why the feck did we spend £10m on Cashin? You can't coach pace.

Only for the whiney bitches, I guess.screwed. this is must win. Not really for our season but for FH!
Verbruggen last week too.I reckon 'patience in possession ' means don't try too hard to get forward when the options are not there, and then lose the ball and concede.
eg
Dunk last week
Hinshelwood recently
Weiffer at Leicester
And probably loads more this season I can't recall cui
I was stunned MOTD cut this out, that goal literally doesn't happen otherwise, and it changed the game completely, I guess they don't want to make Utds new keeper look bad already.Verbruggen last week too.
All of the highlights clips have saved his embarrassment.
But the pass he made for their 2nd, was disastrous.
I doubt there was a Brighton player within 15 yards of it.
Oooh, good shout. Sacked for the same reason as Hughton, IIRC, and also because he wasn't a Bloom hireRussell Slade ?

I think a quick look at the goals we have conceded pretty well all season will give you your answerI promised to be positive rest of the season and this might sound a bit negative, but this is a genuine question:

There was an article on (I think) the BBC a month or so ago -- apologies, I've searched but can't find it -- which showed that FH was top of that league averaging 4.8 substitutions a game. Maybe someone else more adept at search can find it -- there was a thread on it.Do they? Which stats? You tend to be a reliable poster, but subs in my experience have tended to appear about 15 minutes after the need for them has been obvious.
He’s made a lot of subs in part because we’ve had so many players that have needed their minutes managing (because of the injury situation). There was an article on (I think) the BBC a month or so ago -- apologies, I've searched but can't find it -- which showed that FH was top of that league averaging 4.8 substitutions a game. From memory, it didn't analyse the timing of substitutions so we might be speaking at cross purposes but fwiw he doesn't tend to be too much of a slouch in introducing changes (granted, there isn't too many half-time ones made).
