I’m a bit conflicted by this subject, yes, the real things are just too expensive, but bear in mind the proceeds of the fakes are being used by organised crime groups to fund other, more sinister parts of their operations including arms, drugs, prostitution and human trafficking.

The fakes are a decent approximation of the real thing, but by no means perfect copies. If the real manufacturers could just see some sense they’d be able to end the fake market, but all the while they are happy with the profits they’re making regardless I guess they’ll stick to half hearted efforts to stop the fakes and not be overly worried about it.

I bought a Barca 2nd kit for my lad last week on holiday. He wears any old football shirt. It's deffo legit though.

The lads selling them by the Cathedral in Palma had the lot on a picnic blanket. They even did a special deal because I was their friend. Lucky they were there as well because they were off in 5 minutes and this was before lunch. What were the chances? Anyway, we got an even better deal when we added in the inter Miami shirt (Just for you my friend).

On the bright side, it's less likely he'll be wandering around in the Lazio one we bought last year that makes him look like Nigel Farage's lad.

Complete tosh
The shirts are made in China and probably have nothing to do with organised crime, drugs or prostitution.
We all know you are a shirt collector and don’t like fakes but please don’t try and link a fake shirt seller in China to drugs and prostitution…

Fake means exploitation and or modern slavery which means criminality. So yes, Phil has a point I’d say! China not known for its workers rights either…

In fairness, no-one here is passing judgement on chavs who buy fake shirts.
Now you're just being a dick. I have 4 shirts all legit from the shop that's nearly £300. Jnrs have more shirts, one had full kit with printing, I think he was 7 (no I hadn't signed him up for Jnr seagulls so I had to pay for the shirt :lolol: ). That's over £1.5k in shirts!!!!

It doesn't make people 'chavs' for not being able to afford £1.5k on shirts over the years. It's just people showing their allegiance to the team!
Someone really kind hearted bought my Jnr a blue & white striped scarf for Xmas one year, he already had a 'proper' one from the shop that he'd had for years but she bought it for him so he could wear it & show his allegiance to BHA. It's the sentiment!

I'm going to buy us all moody shirts for next season & get Wozza printed on the back of them all. ;)

I was a bit confused by that, I didn’t know Fu Manchu had diversified into global supply chains

It doesn’t take much effort to uncover the issues surrounding counterfeit products and their association with these crimes.

On the fake home shirts this season I've seen at games the paler / narrower blue line doesn't fade out at the ends like it does on the genuine. One of those you probably wouldn't notice on it's own, but when you've got two people sat next to each other and one is wearing the genuine it stands out and looks pretty obvious.

The quality of the club badge is also usually a clear indicator of it being fake. The lettering in particular on the badge is normally badly aligned around the curve.

Agreed, I've seen quite a few worn that were totally obvious due to the badge. I guess that's due it being bespoke rather than a shirt template and fit hey have nailed across all teams.
