Like a shite Dr Who episode that went on forever. Some terrible overacting and just ...boring, the bigliest sin. A great premise and some interesting ideas absolutely wasted. Worse film I've seen for years at the cinema. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Where have the good reviews for this come from?

Edit - well done to whoever edited the trailer into making this film look really interesting...

Snow White. Maybe not the target audience a 62 year old bloke for this one but I loved it. Rachel Zegler was superb, she is a real star. It has been slated and a hate campaign bordering on blatent racism. It was a very solid remake imo. Haters can do one. 83 out of 100 one of the best disney lives, maybe the best down to Zegler

Wasn't it slated because they didn't want to employ people with dwarfism, and instead they used CGI to make other actors look like the equivalent of the original dwarves? Just idiotic decisions from start to finish.

Minecraft is the worst film I have seen in a long time. An opportunity missed.

However I watched it working on a school holiday program and the kids loved it.

So I suppose it does it's job.

Novocain.

Rather enjoyable comedy / crime caper where the main character has a genetic disorder that means he can’t feel pain.

Saw it at Worthing Dome last night. My favourite cinema .

It wasn’t absolutely hilarious and some of the jokes fell flat but it was funny enough and quite an easy, enjoyable romp with some really gross / funny injuries.

Yeah, enjoyed it.

Probably the last adult film they’ll be showing for a couple of weeks so we got in there just in time .

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

A huge misfire. The film is a rambling mess.

The absolutely mad decision to base the story around the character played by a man (Jeffrey Jones) who has been convicted of child sexual offences is disastrous.

And he was convicted some time ago. Way before this film was even thought of.

While Jeffrey Jones doesn’t physically appear in the film, his image is everywhere. Including an animation with him in it.

I won’t beat around the bush. It’s a shit film.

Kraven The Hunter.

I’m not really into superhero films except for some Batman stuff and I did enjoy the Henry Cavill Superman film.

I lost track of the MCU many summers gone now.

Nevertheless, I remember enjoying the Tarzan like adventures of KTH as a child. The comic books intrigued me.

So I rented it ion Amazon.

Not bad at all.

I liked the cast. The story licked along at a good pace. Russell Crowe was good as was Fred Hechinger playing Kraven’s father and brother, respectively.

Aaron Taylor Johnson I can take or leave. Leave mostly. His weird faux surfer swagger and roll of the shoulders is a bit affected and I don’t buy him as a hard man. I hope he doesn’t get the Bond role he’s so heavily touted for.

However, he was quite good in this. He didn’t quite have the heft or gravitas the character requires. I think Jason Momoa would have been a better choice but he’s already taken as Aquaman.

Still, it was an enjoyable action film with a bit of ridiculous but enjoyable superhero lore in the mix.

Worth a watch, I’d say.

6/10

G20 (Prime)

It's the G20 conference and a bunch of tech bro, ex special forces terrorists have kidnapped nearly all of the G20 leaders as part of some cryptocurrency mega scam. However, they have underestimated one of their targets.

Viola Davis is POTAS (and John McClane, Casey Ryback and Brian Mills). Along with a Security guard she sets out to take down the terrorists and save her family.

With a schlubby, pompous British PM, the diminutive head of the IMF and the elegantly attired wife of the South Korean leader (I think) in tow she sets out on her mission. Violence ensues.

No way near as bad as it should be. Vastly better than any of those "xxxxx has fallen" films and I preferred it to Under Siege or Taken.

Recommended (sort of)

Myself and a mate have started going to the Dome cinema of a Sunday night. Which we are enjoying very much.

Just back from The Amateur at Worthing Dome.

Geeky intelligence officer turns wannabe Jason Bourne to avenge the murder of his wife.

Only, they forget to add any action.

Really quite boring.

And John Bernthal was criminally underused.

Next week; The Accountant 2, which we have very high hopes for. Loved the first one.

I generally like the silly, don't have to think, ridiculous action films, but this was just way too silly and ridiculous. It was even too bad to be bad enough to be good.

But we all have our own perspectives so enjoy it if you do.

It's probably because I watched 'Armor' with Sylvester Stallone the day before which would make a perfect double bill with 'Flight Plan' as the shittiest pair of (tepid) action thrillers ever made.

Armor has the least exciting vehicle chase ever, and then it gets worse.

Tempted to go to watch Warfare at the cinema. I only go to the cinema to watch films that will hopefully be better/more of an experience on the Big Screen. Front row for Longlegs for example I really enjoyed, for atmosphere in particular. In fact, a decent horror film is always much more fun at the cinema. Only thing with Warfare is it might be a bit too documentary-style than seemingly having much of a "story" , which is putting me off a bit. Anyone seen it yet? (no spoilers please).

Warfare. Well. Still processing it but an extremely well done film but my oh my it's a tough watch.

Set during the Iraqi war, it tells the story, through the memories of the soldiers who were there, of a specific instance. With a squad trapped in a house, needing an evacuation, it is one of the tensest films I've seen, and gives an unflinching look at what I imagine is a remarkably accurate depiction of such a situation.

The visuals and sound design are both horribly effective, and I liked how there's no music throughout (apart from the very opening, which does seem unexpected for such a film - once you see it, you'll know what I mean - until the shot opens up and it makes sense).

Oh and a warning - it's got scenes which aren't for the squeamish. Definitely not a date film; I think the young couple just along from me might have regretted their choice of movie!

Den Of Thieves 2 dropped on Prime. First film was ok in a crappy, enjoyable, it's late I'm having snacks and this is on, kind of way. The sequel is imbecilic and very irritating with some hilariously bad, macho man chatting.

G20 is worse.

I'm on a bad run of dog shit films.

Armor (on Prime) makes G20 look like There Will Be Blood.
