[Albion] Going to be pretty empty for the Villa game

It absolutely has though.

Season ticket holders (incl. 1901ers) have c24,000 tickets, Villa have 3,000-odd and 4,000 or so matchday tickets have sold.

Because of that the club now give STHs the chance to sell on their ticket(s) if they can't make it.

A few years ago there was no season ticket exchange, this game would be announced as a sell-out and some folk would be absent. I think it's quite commonplace for c10% of fans to be no-shows across the Premier League.

I'd prefer to be able to hand my tickets to my neighbour and his son on the occasions I can't go, but I also understand why the club don't want that to happen.

i always think that this 10% figure is interesting. In our case that 10% of STHs amounts to 2,100 empty seats (Less resales)

It sounds a lot, put like that - and you see lots of super fans moaning about it - but what it really means (on average) is that each STH is missing TWO games per season.

I absolutely GUARANTEE that there are people on this very thread, posting disparaging comments about our ‘flaky’ fans, who have themselves missed their two-game ‘share’ of this statistic.

Will leave now and walk to see this game every season.
Just to see JP rifle it from 20yds pass Martinez, and Unai E fold his arms and shake his head.
Can't stand them after the cheating antics 3 seasons back.
Always as must for me.

It's a bit odd that the uptake is low. Are there some local schools on Easter hols? Sun will be shining, chasing Europe. Can't get my head round it.
I simply cannot keep taking time off work to come to midweek games, I live in the Midlands and weekend games are fine, but weekdays are just brutal for me to make work, it's a shame, but I'm sure there are many stories similar to mine.

I thought someone said the Ditchling Road was only closed today? I hope so as was planning on going that way.
Whatever, be careful with your Tesla if those morons are still about

It was 3,391 shortly after it opened.

I guess the exchange being officially open on the selling side makes more STH list their seats. Some don't realise you can list your ticket at any time.

This isn't the most we've ever seen - there were over 4,000 just ahead of the Chelsea game.
3,819 available now - most blocks have MORE tickets for sale now than they did this morning.

I think it's a combination of...

- Some STH not being aware they can put their ticket into the exchange at any time.
- News of the anticipated A27 carnage now spreading and many people thinking "I can't be arsed with that!"

Will we top 4,000 tickets tomorrow? Stay tuned, folks!

Travelling back on Sunday after the Forest match was a fricking nightmare - packed like sardines because of cancellations and with people ( like me ) avoiding bus replacements on other routes; no toilets working on the train and no direct trains to Cambridge or St Pancras. The only direct Victoria trains took 2.5 hours and went via Horsham!

Doing it all again tomorrow but final part of the journey in car - although parking in 3 Bridges or Lewes might be a better idea based on what I’m reading in the Evening Argus 🙄

Hey ho - If the team can be arsed then so can I!

It’s a question of attitude as much as anything and refers to a small number of people on this board.

I’ve missed my quota due to having to work. Luckily my late meeting today got cancelled so I’ll be there tonight and I’m looking forward to it. And there are other perfectly good reasons for missing such as health, holiday or family issues. But when people on here post that they’re not going because it’s Villa and the travel might take a while that’s absolutely flaky.

This is the problem isn’t it. We’re now forced to put the ticket on the exchange or risk the wrath of a telling off from the club.

Now, I know the club don’t want the risk of unknown people in the stadium - god knows how we used to manage society in the past - but we need to find an easier way to just pass tickets to friends without having to go through some admin.

I’m driving down from Guildford with a space in the Uni car park. How bad is the A27 going to be? ‘I wouldn’t bother’ bad?
