Good stuff.

A fair few of my friends and family are problem gamblers too !!! Well, in the opinion of the bookies anyway. Gone through hundreds of accounts in various guises. The restrictions are a proper joke now & I’ve not bothered with new accounts for a few years.

Have to get the cash on in the shops these days but that’s getting harder. Any three figure bet is looked as some kind of criminal act by some staff.

Pre-Covid I was commuting to London most days to get my bets on in the morning, was like a military operation to go to the right shops at the right times. Happy days. I was making about 20% ROI then & with eye watering steaks the £ profits were very good. Obviously didn’t win all the time & the losing runs were tough but got used to them eventually.

Now my betting is just for pocket money and to keep the brain ticking over.

I'm amazed that high street shops are still going.

Pretty much no BOG.

Awful odds.

Surely there can't be enough people playing those appalling machines to keep them going?

Agree with that, I’m surprised there are still loads of them still about but am thankful they are, for my pocket money.

I took Hewick at 12/1 e/w a few days ago with 7 places.

Once they start showing footage of the horse drinking pints of Guinness the odds will shorten.

Plus it's a legitimate chance.

I covered myself in (very rare) glory on the Cheltenham Gold Cup; I am nervous about getting involved in this.

Lightening don't strike twice.

However, 4pm tomorrow my rubber arm might well be twistable.....

Willie Mullins 1-2-3-5.

Grangeclare West made a mistake at the last, which I feel was very costly.

I am finding it harder and harder to follow this event anymore. Heartbreaking news today

I did have a bet and did well as the three horses I picked out came 1st, 2nd and 5th. Didn't see the race as I was otherwise engaged at Selhurst but the winnings did help take my mind of the result. However, not great to hear what happened to this horse and the fact the jockey only got a 10 day ban. The owners need to take a look at themselves for entering a 13 year old horse (a horse that age hasn't won the grand national since at least the 1950s if not longer). No prospect of winning and too old.

I had a bet on the Grand National two years running. Both horses died. This was in the early 80s and I haven’t even been close to laying a bet since
