All fair except the last part. Its not the club who had this game moved to Monday.Very disappointing timing for this KO and one of the reasons why I seriously waivered over renewing my ST. It can be a significant logistical challenge for us exiles getting to & from The Amex even without seemingly more & more inconvenient KO times. OK its my choice to live elsewhere but I'm reasonably prepared to do the hard yards 20 or so times per season, despite transport and other complications.
Already way too many empty seats around The Amex on matchdays & especially for evening games. Everyone, including the Club (and surely the players) know the atmosphere can be lacking. So it would be extra sad if the place isn't packed full and rocking for the last home game of the season. Especially if a late charge into the Europa places is possible. Conversely, if Europe is out of the question by then it would at least be a last chance to show appreciation for the team and special players such as Mitoma, Pedro & Baleba who might then be tempted elsewhere in the summer. Idols for so many youngsters. The sort of stand out players that give one a sense of anticipation for next season and a reason for renewing ST. Would leave a rather flat feeling over the summer, on top of a rather average run of form and frustrating style of play.
The Club should seriously take note and not take it's fans for granted.
A decision that was made some time ago (at least a week) and only just released to the paying customers.TV decision not the club I imagine
Believe they will be/have already been cancelled, attempts to suggest to the Premier League that this wasn’t the best idea, were futile. Ultimately the only people who can block games is the police. Some engineering works scheduled on the railway that night too.
Absolutely. I doubt the clubs get much/ any say. Sky aren’t paying huge sums to not pick and choose as they please. If you’re pissed off and want to take action cancel your Sky subscription.TV decision not the club I imagine
Expecting a SURGE of Albion+ memberships in the next few days, and all those tickets on the exchange flying off the shelves. Kerching.Allied to our form just now, there’ll be record numbers of away fans for the Saudi and LFC visits.
I think the club should make this happen for home fans at the Newcastle home game now and publicise accordingly - and just leave Liverpool to it after the match on 19th.Any volunteers to stick around for the lap of appreciation?
I do hope so. Last train from Lewes to Eastbourne at 2157 followed by rail replacement buses could be problematic.Believe they will be/have already been cancelled, attempts to suggest to the Premier League that this wasn’t the best idea, were futile. F*@king Great!!!I am flying abroad on the 19th.
I accept these unpopular changes have been imposed by Sky. They've 'bought' us as PL clubs and fans as a collective entity. Its a two-edged sword. We enjoy their income and then expect our club to splash the Sky cash on decent players, their wages and our facilities, so will surely put up with some inconvenience, such as awkward KO days & times? All fair except the last part.
