How could you possibly pronounce it High-ee-tee !?!?!! It's like pronouncing 'H' incorrectly as 'haych' instead of 'aych'

When I used to speak to the telephone operators in Haiti they answered as Port au Prince rather than Port-o-Prints. We also used to slightly emphasis the "h" in Haiti whereas it is normally dropped just to avoid confusion with eighty. It's Haiti French - and is pronounced Port-o-Prints, not Port-o-Prance.
Seeing the common usage is hay-tee, i just checked the news even the pc BBC are using it, where the f*** did Buzza get the idea it was anything else?

WikiAnswers - How do you pronounce haiti
The correct spelling of Haïti is with a diaeresis (double dot) on the i. This means the two vowels need to be pronounced separately. So the correct, as opposed to common American, pronunciation is: ha eety, as in naïve.

Well I suppose we could rewrite about half the english langauge so it is spelt or pronounced in their native tongues, although with the whole world learning english why bother?
Or more importantly you are using a logical fallacy to be a pompous twat, again.
the question generally perceived would be how is Haiti pronounced in English? as that would be relevant. Not the native pronounciation is "X" therefor anyone who doesn't use it is wrong. This is England, we speak english and pronounce words in English.
Dont be such a politicaly correct tool. Or in anglo-saxon parlance a f***ing snob.
Im not angry about it, I'm angry ive only had one winner on the nags so far, Consider yourself colateral damage.
