[Albion] How many points from our final six games?

Football fans are goldfish who seem to have a memory span of 3 matches tops.

Well let me remind you all, before this bad run, we were on the verge of a record breaking unbeaten streak.

That's football.

If we manage to get a couple of wins you lot will all of a sudden be optimistic and talking about Europe again.

Realistically, from the remaining fixtures, we are likely to drop points when we expect more, and pick up points where we'd expect less - typical Albion form.

I predict 2 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats - don't know where they're coming from - so 8 points.

Errr... Not many?

I saw this as a transitional season and did not expect us to compete for a European spot. However, I had anticipated a steady progress in terms of team chemistry and our younger players which would encourage most of our stars to stick around for FH's second, sensational break-out season. Needless to say, morale and optimism seem to be dwindling as they did last spring.

But worse things happen at sea, y'know. UTA !

Realistically 5. We're good for draws even during our really bad run, and think we'll win once.

To be honest we could score points in all of them. Draw Brentford, beat West Ham, Wolves and Spurs, lose to the Saudis and all three results possible against Liverpool depending on whether they have the title already.

So I'll go 10 points

It does feel a bit like the end of last season when we basically gave up. We still managed to beat Villa though so maybe one more win.

Wolves (a) - 3 points
Liverpool (h) - 1 points
Spurs (a) - 0 point

TOTAL: 9 points for a grand total of 57 points. Extrapolated to the rest of the league (via here) the table will look something like this.

N.B. Europe will all depend on how Fulham get on in the final day at home to City...

10 points.
Brentford (A): 1 point
West Ham (H) - 3 points
Newcastle (H) - 0 points
Wolves (A) - 3 points
Liverpool (H) - 0 points
Spurs (A) - 3 points

Could possibly be 13 points as Liverpool will have been crowned Champions by then. The form they are on, Newcastle is really the only difficult match.

I don't think we can assume a win against Wolves.

Won their last 4 in a row.

I find it hard to answer without knowing when Veltman is back, how much we can use March, can we use Van Hecke and Dunk for the rest of the games, etc etc. We are capable of being a very good or very poor side dependent on who we can get on the pitch.

Impossible really to predict. Who would have correctly guessed we would not get a single win since the Terrace opened?
I think we'll get another 8-10 points. So probably end up on 56, 57 or 58 pts. Might be enough Europe.. who knows. Could come down to goal difference (and then the Forest away shocker really has some resonance).

Only the teams in the mini-league matter now: Fulham, Muff, Brentford and Palarse.
Personally, I feel missing out on Europe this year will be a bit of a blessing. We can't even keep a squad fit playing a regular PL season FFS.
If FH is going to really push on next year, then he may benefit from having less distraction. I think the whole squad rotation and exhaustion around European games will be to his and our detriment.

However... will Utd and Spurs (West Ham and Everton for that matter) be as poor next year? Might be a very long time before we see a European place look so achievable as it has this year.
