How long have they been using different tiers of MyAlbion+ points to sell tickets for home matches?

I've never seen that before (not that I pay much attention to ticket sales for games, for obvious reasons). I'm certain that wasn't in place for the home matches against Palace and Brentford over the Christmas period.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before for home games.

Wonder if it’s anything to do with trying to avoid too many plastic Liverpool fans in the home end. Although I imagine if the exchange opens they’ll find it easy enough to get them even if the club restrict it to purchase history.

Its Liverpool Premier league Champions and a chance to beat them and take pride in our performance and some fans dont wanna see that? We are more likely to beat Liverpool than Leicester and Ipswich and Southampton FFS. I cant wait for the match. Bring it on. Yeah Monday 8pm not best but could be worse.

I’m liking this new streak of positivity!

I’m a member and never seen it before. I’ve got enough points to buy in the first window but my mate hadn’t, so we’re buying tomorrow.

Had exactly the same thought as you why they’ve done it.

I hope it's a one-off (or only used for high profile matches). As someone who gets very little, if any, benefit from stumping up my 33 quid (or whatever the MyAlbion+ fee is these days), I'd be pretty cheesed off if it still left me in just about the lowest possible tier for purchasing tickets.

Was there talk of a boycott in 2023, 2021 and 2018 when our final PL home game was also a weekday evening game on Sky.

I can’t see in the faqs anywhere, is this season ticket holder or my Albion + can bring a guest or season ticket holder can bring a guest who is an Albion +?

It is all very confusing!

I have a season ticket with my son who can’t attend, can I bring a guest who isn’t an Albion +? (I know I’ll have to pay to upgrade)

I've just had a look at the Albion website to see what it says about MyAlbion+ memberships.

It categorically states that "a MyAlbion+ membership will entitle you to buy one ticket per fan number DURING THE FIRST PRIORITY WINDOW." (emphasis mine)

I would encourage you/your mate (and anyone else who is being disadvantaged by this new criteria) to contact the club and point out that they are not following their own marketing statements when they sold these memberships:-

That specific window means that a season ticket holder OR a MyAlbion+ member can buy an additional ticket for someone who isn't a season ticket holder or MyAlbion+ member (I made use of this over Christmas when my BIL wanted to come to two games with me and he isn't a MyAlbion+ member).

The only way a boycott could have any impact is if STHs didn’t go but also didn’t list their tickets. I reckon there will be 6k+ plastic LFC dickheads there now.

It’s a disgrace, and a new low, by these TV companies, but what is the club meant to do? Personally I think TB or PBOBE should say something to the fans, at least empathise a bit, but I was flamed by a few for suggesting that…..
"We are really sorry that thousand of you were unable to go, and sold your tickets to Liverpool supporters, because they are a big club with fans everywhere keen to see their team, whereas most of our support has other interests, it being The South, with thousands haveing a hissy fit when a fixture is played on the wrong sort of day and time, and want to sack the board unless we finish in the top six"

2018 was a Friday night, no school the next day for younger fans, majority of adults wouldn’t have to worry about work the next day. A lot less inconvenient than a Monday night. Also our PL status was still on the line going into this game so the match meant something.

In 2021 only 8000 Fans could attend because of lockdown rules etc. It could have been played at midnight and people would have still gone after a year of not being able to go to games.

2023 the game was rearranged from earlier in the season due to our FA Cup run that season.

All 3 a bit different to what is likely to be a dead rubber on a Monday night. Even if it means something for us in the race for Europe, Sky don’t care they just want an excuse to show the Champions.

The clubs can’t take Sky’s billions and then moan when Sky take what they paid for. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was actually a clause in the deal banning clubs from in any way criticising Sky.
