The worst thing I have ever eaten was a Tarantula off a street vendor in Cambodia, it was VILE. They broke it in half, the head and legs were charred, crispy and dry. It wasn't the worst.

But the abdomen was basically one giant puss ball, as soon as i bit into it, it popped and went all down by chin. Safe to say I instantly threw up.

EDIT: Also turns out the locals rarely consume the abdomen, and just f*** with drunk tourists.

Not for the first time I have thought we really need a 🤢 or a 🤮 as a post reaction option.

Otherwise ‘disgusting’ just makes me chuckle for some reason and really disgusting makes me laugh a lot.

Mrs Q said I was gross. It was very tasty. I’ll try any local food but what is the opinion on NSC on certain local delicacies ?
Had octopus last night and that is pretty tasteless.
Was the menu in English? Asking for a friend!
I'd be more happy to try the octopus, no idea why that's acceptable to me & what you've just said & most of what @Herr Tubthumper posts on here from abroad get a 'No' from me! 🤷‍♀️

If we’re talking random food, then I was in the Amazon and the tour guide pulled up this plant and said to me as the closest person “hold out your hand”.

I did as asked and he banged the plant on my hand and about 10 yellow ants were running around.

“Eat them” he said. I wasn’t exactly convinced so put my tongue to the one ant that was on its own. It tasted like lemon sherbet. I ate the other nine ants without hesitation.

On the same holiday I also ate Guinea Pig.

Rhubarb is better with custard, who has it with parsnips?
Parsnips can do one and take turnips and swedes with them. As for custard: one of the most disgusting examples of British 'food' there is. Looks and tastes like yellow puke. Rhubarb crumble and rhubarb and ginger jam on the other hand, yes, please.

I believe Red Bull wanted to call it Punch Red Bull but too many people were hitting the can with their fists.

The joys of living in Mexico is very much the food - ant larva, caterpillers, grasshoppers and various other insects - if it moves you can eat it!! Not forgetting the more normal stuff, snake, armadillo, testicles and maize funghi!!

Sheep’s head stew which apart from finding a row of teeth in my bowl was pretty tasty
There’s a Catalan stew I like which consists of sheep’s head and feet. Gluey but glorious.

I had stuffed frog in Cambodia last week. The stuffing I kept getting bits of bone and tasted ok, the legs tasted like chicken.
