A fair point there, it opens accusations of throwing the election.

Certainly unacceptable though perhaps harder to prove than betting on insider knowledge.

Then the major difference is how the parties have acted in response. Starmer had been assertive and taken action, where Sunak dithered hoping not to lose candidates.

Labour has suspended a party member after being notified of their arrest in connection with the Westminster "honeytrap" scandal, the BBC understands.

Police arrested a man in his mid-20s on suspicion of harassment and offences under the Online Safety Act in London on Wednesday.

Multiple alleged victims were informed by the Metropolitan Police shortly afterwards.

I can’t see it making much difference potentially adding 7m voters to the register if they don’t turn out to vote. I would suggest that it’s mainly disengagement and apathy towards the main political parties rather than the complications of getting onto the electoral register in the first place that is the issue of disenfranchised voters - The Tories (and any Party that forms a Government) should stop perhaps stop treating the North East and Midlands as a poor relation to the South and South West when it comes to investment and infrastructure. Labour strongholds in the North showed some of the lowest turnout in 2019. Even if regeneration has occurred in many parts of the Northern areas of the UK, there’s still the perception of a North South divide.

Councillor quits Labour over Starmer Bangladesh comment

The councillor thinks that Bangladeshis were being targeted but the truth is that Sir Keir Starmer was referring to a recent agreement between the two countries.

A Labour Party spokesperson said Sir Keir had "proudly supported the Bangladeshi community across the UK".

"This clip has been edited to make it look as though Keir Starmer is suggesting repatriation of British Bangladeshis. It is misinformation.

"In fact, Keir is referring to Labour's long-established policy of returning those who don't have the legal right to be in the UK to safe countries.

"Bangladesh was only used as an example, as there is already a bilateral agreement between the two countries."

It’s not the first time clips have been edited to change the context. 3 female Tory MPs were in trouble previously for doing it.

The truth is the level of antisemitism in the Labour Party was hugely exaggerated.
