A potential interesting dilemma for some on here developing at our friends at Leverkusen. With Alonso strongly tipped to be heading to Real this summer, thoughts are turning to a replacement. According to my Deutschland sources, Bild (yes, the German equivalent of The Sun) is reporting that both Fabian and Oliver Glasner are in the frame take over at Leverkusen.

Would the Fabian out brigade prefer a parting of the ways this summer, or rather Palace being hamstrung by the loss of a manager who seems to be coming good?

'the German equivalent of The Sun' should be enough to see that rumour off.

Suspect they'd take Glasner over Fab all day long. Which would be funny re Palace, but would be quite happy for them to end our Fab experiment gracefully.

Not a chance either of them would jump ship for that opportunity.

Hoping Spurs come in for Glasner in the Summer

struggling to understand on their past season's record why either would be considered.

If Fabian went to Leverkusen and we got a load of compensation for him, there would be a lot of very happy people on this board

Yeah absolutely.

I can't see why any manager would leave two mid ranked Premier League teams who've never won anything to go to the extremely well run reigning German League and Cup Champions and manage them in the Champions League and title charge.

Far better wait and go to the shambles that is Spurs.

This is exactly the type of scenario TB would love - he personally might be on the fence of whether to pull the trigger dependent on the finish to this season. In an IDEAL world we surge to the Europa or Conference league convincing Leverkusen FH is their man. We begrudingly accept the approach and trouser a £5m compensation fee then go and steal a march on the rest of the footballing world and poach Knutsen from Bodo Glimt.

This is the RAY of sunshine i've been looking in my otherwise depressed Albion mojo world.

Leverkusen could definitely go for Glasner and I think he’d go so he’d be back closer to home and have the challenge of Europe. They’d have some compo from Alonso going to Madrid to pay off Palace too.

Cant see them going for FH, but could be wrong.
Win win!

I'm more "on the fence" than "Fab out" so I probably shouldn't be answering, but fwiw I'd much prefer them to go for Glasner. I still haven't completely given up on the hope that things will click into place under FH -- after all, it wasn't that long ago that Glasner looked like another Palace misstep.
