Had an interesting experience in Crete a couple of years back with millipedes. I was staying at our usual apartments - but a bit later in the year than usual. We'd had some rain. Came back to the apartment after some lovely food, beer, wine and raki ... to find literally hundreds of the buggers climbing up the external apartment walls. Went inside to find a number of them on the walls and ceiling - including some directly above my bed. I was feeling a bit wobbly but didn't like the thought of getting into bed with these little buggers above me. So I did my best to get as many as I could and flushed them down the loo. This became a regular post drinks ritual ... although there were always a few I just couldn't get to.
