I don't buy this. He really didn't.

Any new manager coming in would have their own entourage and he would have been demoted and out of a job.

Proof came when De Zerbi indeed came with loads of people who he trusted as his inner circle for assistant managers.

Faced with a massive pay rise by following your manager to a new club, or uncertainty with likely demotion/being out of a job is a fairly simple choice.

Even if Bloom tried to demand any new manager keep him as an assistant, not only would it likely be a half baked assistant as new manager will have own people they actually trust, but would be foolish from Tony as meddling with the managers role and who his assistants should be would scare candidates off.

De Zerbi would only have people around him he sees as his ride or dies. He struggled with not deciding player recruitment - training and assistants being forced on him? Please. He changed a lot of backroom staff bits, brought loads of people with him that effectively demoted others.

Personally, I am sad he left and how, but I put this more on Potter. Not sure Bruno had much choice, very much doubt anyone here in the same situation would do something differently (as if you'd reject an offer of 4x your current salary to work at your companies competitor), and he probably did Tony a favour by not forcing a difficult situation by staying.

Bruno hurt because he was such an epic legend in his time here. But that means he was a legend in his time here. And so for me, remains one.

Potter I'm over, but can go f*** himself. He could have built a dynasty with us, but threw away our and Tony's loyalty for a quick buck.
That assumes he has the capability. I see no evidence of that.
I don't accept the narrative that on the very rare occasion we have a manager who strings a few results together he should be expected to stay and create a dynasty.
We have never had a dynasty (unless you count Charlie Webb).
Fergy, Wenger....Klopp maybe....dynasties are for fairy tales and American TV soaps.
We normally sack our managers because they can't hack it.
Why shouldn't a manager leave when they get a better offer?
It isn't as if we have a history of winning things.
We had a good start the season Potter left. But Chelsea were mad to appoint him.
Potter would have been mad to not have accepted the offer.
He didn't even have to move house.

Sorry but I have antibodies to all this.
If we win at the weekend had I been there I would have happy joined in with all the mockery.
But till we have the 3 points in the bag I have no interest in thinking about the opposition manager.
Icky.

Confess I'm now entirely indifferent to Potter. He got pelters when he came back with Chelsea, and that's fair enough.

But RDZ took us to another level, so who now cares? Maybe Potter now he realises the patience and support he was afforded here.

I get why Cucurella, Trossard and Caicedo will still get grief. But Potter. Meh.

We should only target an opposing manager if it will help create an atmosphere which helps the team like it did on Potter’s return as Chelsea boss. That day was amazing and although I felt some sympathy for him that was completely overshadowed by a great 4-1 win against a much richer and stronger opponent! Let’s face it targeting Potter tomorrow won’t help our players and just make us look a bit obsessive and weird…

Yeah he's a pantomime villain, I'm convinced sometimes that a lot of people on here have never been to a football match before in their lives. We don't have to constantly be the moral arbitrators of football, sometimes football is about rivalry and being on the wind up, no wonder our atmosphere is about as electric as funeral procession sometimes. Like someone else has said, Scott McGleish, Alex Pritchard, Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez, Dan Harding, Dean Hammond, Nigel Adkins, Alan Pardew, Johnny Williams, Neil Danns, and EVEN GLENN MURRAY all got both barrels for some very minor misdemeanours, that didn't include pillaging all the staff and recruitment team. Then saying our club was an easy life, thinking no one would care, I think its the one time in recent years, we've showed what an amazing fanbase we have and the loyalty we show, instead half the stadium want to give him an applause.
Yes, I was there. I booed (but not Murray).
It was fun. Mostly. Panto.
Almost entirely lower league tinpottery, though.
Murray and Palace wasn't though.
He scored against us.
He didn't have it large.
Yet lots of our supporters lost their shit.
There was no fun there. None at all.
It was embarrassing.

I am sure half the stadium DO NOT want to give Potter applause.
Where on earth did you get that from?

But tomorrow should not be all about Potter,
and for some people it seems it is.
Not you, I would imagine.
But just you see how it pans out if we are losing.
