Seagulls Eleven galloped at Newmarket before racing today, finished well clear of his (79-rated) galloping companion. Hugo Palmer was in bullish form afterwards and looking straight towards the 2,000 Guineas. Said he hasn't seen a horse of his go up the hill to the line on the Rowley Mile as strongly since he galloped Galileo Gold - Seagulls Eleven's sire - before he won the Guineas. Oisin Murphy was very impressed too, says he feels a lot stronger this year, and Tom Marquand is lined up to ride if Oisin is claimed for something else.

I'm confused now. Is this one of the 'Albion' horses we all pile on when fancied and somehow manages to not trouble the judges? Or is it one of the 'Albion' horses that somehow manages to swerve the Kennomeat factory in order to romp home at life-changing odds?

Write-up here (by you?) incliuding a photo of Jason Steele on course.

Seagulls flying high
Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele was on the Rowley Mile for a rare glimpse of Seagulls Eleven, the Betfred 2,000 Guineas contender he owns in partnership with teammates Lewis Dunk, James Milner and Danny Welbeck among others.
A 33-1 chance with Paddy Power for the Guineas, the Hugo Palmer-trained three-year-old worked a mile before racing under Oisin Murphy, clearing away from stablemate He's A Gentleman, who was ridden by Michael Hills.
Murphy sported the blue and white silks of Seagulls Eleven for the gallop, but Steele does not expect to be on course to see the son of Galileo Gold run in the Classic itself on May 3.
He said: "Unfortunately we are playing Newcastle that day, but we'll no doubt keep in touch and cheer him on from afar."

Having just watched Field Of Gold run in a 2,000 Guineas warm up I'll just say, these are a good horse.

Missed a race folks.

The Flying Seagull 2nd, beaten by a head at 15/2 in the 16.50 at Lingfield today.

Opened at 12/1. I had a cheeky fiver ew @9s, which just about pays for a pint.
