Who the f*** aftertimes when they’ve bet against their own team? Weird.

Insurance bet, after the Forest evening devastated our winning 11. Silver lining to a predictably shit Albion performance and result. Villa simply don’t knock up these away scores.

Done by a first goal that I'd be bollocking my under 14s team if we conceded. Gomez ball watching giving Rashford a free run. Prior to that, we were the better team.

Performance for first 45 against a decent team was OK.Bit Naïve after the goal but that will happen that way we play. Come to realise Fab's youth counts against him sometimes.

I won't be so sanguine after Palace.

Just got home and struggling to find any positives from tonight, other than I’m Hank Marvin and just remembered a rather large slice of gala pie in the fridge. Lovely with some pickled baby beets 👍

Struggling.

Injuries look to have undone our season. Again.

As someone said elsewhere, Saturday cost us our solid effective CB pairing. Also our most convincing forward who has the pace and physicality to drive through the middle.

Tonight, we didn't start Baleba. Him in front of van Hecke and Webster, I doubt that Rashford goal happens.

Injuries have left us horribly exposed in defence. We have no Full Back cover and Cashin, whilst he may, of course, come good looked miles away from being a CB option at this level.

So yeah, struggling for positives.

Dreadful. Sorry, no positives and that’s ok. Sometimes you just have to concede we were terrible and deserved nothing. So glad I made the 160 mile trip…

I thought we were comfortably the better side before divvy decision making and subs.

The off-his-head Villa fan getting on the pitch was quite funny. There seemed to be a queue lining up to punch him and his mate as they got removed.

No, they don't. Villa were there for the taking last night despite their upturn in form. That 1st goal gifted to them meant we had to commit to attack which made it easy for them to pick us off on the counter. I hope Forest turn them over at weekend and get smashed in Europe!

- We played well -at times really well - and in most games looking like the one yesterday, we get something. We we're a lot better yesterday than in the 2-2 in January. No news that Aston Villa likes playing teams like us where they'll get far with grit, experience and edge quality. But they certainly did not have a comfy evening until the 0-2.

- Impressed by how well several players from the Forest game had recovered mentally and physically, not least Mitoma, raising my belief that we will be truly up for the task against Palace.

- Gruda was really good again and looks like he could be a key player in the final months.

- Dunk looks like chilling a few months haven't done him any harm, looks fit and generally did well.

- Debut for Cashin. Ok, he was slightly shit but no more than I expected from a 5th CB PL debutant who haven't played football for three months, and there was definitely some promising signs in how hungry he looked to find spaces and opening passes. Interesting player but until he gets a summer and pre-season with us, I'd prefer him in the background and instead play Baleba or Wieffer out of position and settle for giving Cashin minutes in games that are already won or lost.
