Saints football maybe a bit direct at times but it seems to getthe job done. I'm all for a bit of fancy footwork and passing but unless you are shit hot at it, it doesn't seem to work to well.

You clearly haven't seen much of us this season. We play great passing football, nothing like the long ball we had under Pardew.

Cardiff has 2 more points than Southampton last season at the beginning of November.

You can't take it away from Southampton, they may have been bridesmaids last season but they have totally adapted to the Championship.

After being raped by the big clubs in the January transfer window they'll quickly plummit to mid table.

They have just recorded their 21st consecutive home win and getting near tio the record of 25 so we would do well to take at least a point off of them on 19th Nov if only to stop them reaching the record.

Can't really see that happening.

The only player that will really have the top clubs queuing up (as opposed to being a decent Championship or lower EPL squad player) is Lallana. They're not going to be waving the chequebooks for Guly del Prado, Lambert or Connolly. With all due respect of course.

I'm not suggesting the rest of their players are shit, but that they're not outstanding in the way Lallana is. Or they're players who have long since missed the boat in terms of attracting top flight attention. Connolly is a prime example. The rest are decent Championship level players who won't be attracting attention from other Championship sides because there'd be no point, given their current position.

Lallana is not only very good, but also young, hence the interest from above.

Who's the next one out of the academy to tease Wenger with, Saints fans?

Good side and can see them going up. No objection if they do. Its good for football that a side can get back to back.

Pompey and Palace are our rivals. Saints mean nothing

That would be Luke Shaw, interest from Spurs and Arsenal - another one to go on to shine maybe, although yet to play a 1st team game for Saints, so bit of a gamble!

What is it with the North London duo viewing Southampton as their feeder club? Bit like us and Norwich to a lesser extent - although at least you get decent money for your prospects.

Like you said at least the money is good for them, they just assume they are going to be the next bale or walcott now so the value of them starts sky high.

Funny really, Bale was nearly booted out of White Hart Lane as Redknapp thought he wasn't going to make it, he got in the side because of an injury to another player and now look at him (though I still dispute he should have been player of the year last season). Walcott...nobody's really sure where to play him or if he'll be the player they hoped he would. Both are good illustrations that the most brilliant of 16 year olds don't always maintain their early standards. Hopefully for Oxlade-Chamberlain he'll do better.
