I'm sure there are several of us that are interested in statistics and data in addition to what we see with our own eyes watching football. I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can post random football related statistics.

I'll start....

I made a quick calculation on points per team divided by market values of the PL squads (20/04/2025).

Thoughts? Obvious one for me is that the so called 'big six' was always going to be at the bottom with their expensive (or overpriced) players.. And maybe not suprisingly either the success stories of the season of Bournemouth, Fulham and Forest are at the top. Evreton perhaps surpisingly high.

Squad values are an interesting metric but I think wages are more telling - I suspect we’d be even higher than 9th on that performance scale but that’s a guess. Probably why Fab doesn’t deserve to be shot out of the cannon just yet, not this season at least

Based on most recent wage figures I think we're 15th in the league. Given that it's a pretty decent performance but only tells part of the story of course.

More telling indeed - 15th according to FBRef (great source of a huge range of detailed stats, although when it comes to wages don’t know what their source is).

£ per point (by wages) table is:

Brentford £0.9m
Forest £1.1m
Bournemouth £1.1m
Brighton £1.3m
Fulham £1.4m
Wolves £1.5m
Ipswich £1.6m
Palace £1.6m
Liverpool £1.7m
Newcastle £1.7m
Everton £1.9m
Aston Villa £1.9m
West Ham £2.5m
Arsenal £2.7m
Spurs £2.8m
Chelsea £3.2m
Man City £3.5m
Leicester £3.6m
Man Utd £4.8m
Southampton £5.1m

This is based on the salary figures in the post above, I did the sums on my phone so could have made the odd mistake and where teams are level I haven’t checked the figures to more accuracy and the order is arbitrary (except for Palace who I absolutely decided should go below Ipswich).

Those figures are more fictional than an MP’s expenses claim

I’d really like to see stats for each player’s win/draw/loss percentage this season.

Webster will come out on top comfortably. Rutter probably second. Maybe Veltman third. Lamptey potentially a surprise package.

Anyone know if this is easily available anywhere?

So from the records I have for this season this is the 'table' of win% for the players when they've started a game. (40 games, Lge & Cup)

Brilliant - thank you.

Further underlines how much FH struggles to find a system that works without Webster, Veltman/Lamptey and Rutter.

Sad that Dunk has the highest loss percentage. He must know the correlation in results between him in the side/not in the side. Confidence must be suffering massively.

* The Notts. Forest FA Cup game I've classed as a draw as that's how it ended after ET.

I’ve often wanted to see this exact type of data eg to see if we win far more when God (Velts) starts at RB. Confirmed.

No surprise about Rutter and Webster too.

Thank you.

Also, what a loss Milner was at the start of the season. He was our first choice midfielder at the outset and his non-availability has certainly had an adverse effect
