I have also been selected to play in the Birchwood on Saturday (to defend our trophy 😜) and I'm struggling to shift my ticket to the few Albion+ members that I know. I would love to just give my ticket to one of my nieces but I'm not paying £20 for the privilege, and since they are only members and not Albion+ members I'm not paying £35 or whatever it is for them to join either...so my seat will most likely be empty! First home game I've missed since Covid and I'm not feeling that bothered...
Just allocate it to any MyA+ member and you’ll get an email with the ticket in. Forward it to your niece. Job done.

Well you could do that - but there’s a risk you’ll be asked for ID. !

OR put it on the exchange , get guest to buy it - they just need to have a fan number - and if you’re paying - they get a legitimate ticket, and once you get the refund it’s cheaper than an A+ membership (£38). Assuming it’s your first share of the season you don’t pay the sharing fee anyway. (At least I think that works!)

There’s 100 or so tickets left so it will probably go to the Exchange in next 24 hours.

Lots of people coming off their 1-2% fixed rate mortgages last year and this. 90% of people are struggling now this is bound to have an impact

I think the club should worry about a general drop in interest. It is now very expensive for any groups/families to go ,
the changes in kick off time are very irritating and disruptive, and in winter times at least the whole experience of attending can be rather unpleasant especially as you get older. Better to stay at home and watch in comfort at a distance. All this means the enthusiasm threshold required to attend rises each year and a number of people give up. I cant see why things would reverse unless clubs do something about it like radically drop prices especially for family groups .
But the club will just respond (if they even bother to do that to a question like your - very very questions of course) that you can spend more money fortune tell if someone you know might wanna go and put the seat up on the exchange so dont blame us blame the PL or do you wanna go back to Withdean? Gillingham?
ABSOLUTELY YES it is expensive and the travel is a real pain and the Terrace needs toilets you can actually find and use but hey ho we play Liverpool, Burnley, Leeds, Arsenal and co. next season so whats the problem im sure would be the response.

And free travel!
i think its been highlighted on here sumwear in past as kids age there is a real increase when they get to over 16 or 18 i think in the pricing structure and even the golden oldies dont get much of a discount any more and have to be even older, some clubs offer the older person discount at age 60

I took a look back at last season's thread on here with people looking to buy season tickets. The availability then would seem to be very much in line with this season.

March 25 2024 - around 3,000 available:-

April 4 2024 - around 2,000 available:-

April 10 2024 - around 2,700 available:-

April 24 2024 - around 2,400 available:-

What seems clear is that at any one time there are far fewer seats available to purchase for prospective season ticket holders than there are home area seats available in total. Why that is, and what the rational behind it is, is not clear to me. Are certain seats NEVER available to season ticket holders? Does the system randomly make seats available up to a set, limited number determined by the club?
WSL W1A to the right of the gangway are seats that the club keep for home supporters sales. They have been encouraging season ticket holders to move on and off for years. Very few of us left in that area as season ticket holders now. We are moving next season, we had notice we had to move as part of the changes to the away supporter seating arrangements so jumped before being pushed to the South Stand.

Imho it shows how the multi millionaires making the decisions are out of touch with the fanbase. Other clubs have protested against unnecessary above inflationary increases and dropping of concessions. Whereas our very loyal 93% club might have a minor grumble while reluctantly getting on with it and mumbling something about interest free Direct Debits.

Sadly, the club will be happy if the 7% are filled by tourists. Might be an issue if Mitoma goes though.

Sure. Ticketing increases, concessions and the like are a justifiable worry at many clubs for fans and campaigning groups . Agreed.

But on this specific point - Albion would prefer having fewer season ticket holders ? - really ?

The club this year have shifted them in line with previous seasons. (They are still flogging them with gusto ) - So how does that stack up with your conviction that they’d prefer “tourists ?” (Do you mean people that buy matchday tickets) Why don’t they just take them off sale then ? - probably cos it doesn’t make financial sense .

Mind you all clubs are obsessed with “utilisation” - ie most now have rules like the Albion to encourage season ticket holders to show up , share or put their tickets on the exchange,

At literally no point have I said the club would prefer tourists. I said the club would be happy as long as tourists fill empty seats.

But several people on here, including our football finance expert, have expressed opinions that Premier League football clubs are happily courting the fan that's happy to pay rocket high prices once a year and blow £350 a game in the megastore, rather than a 66 year old 'legacy fan' with a season ticket who might buy a bovril each week and treat themselves to an annual new bobble hat.

Forgive me for misunderstanding that your argument that the club would be “happy” for the 7% of season tickets that were not renewed this year were filled by tourists does not in fact mean the club would prefer tourists.
Quite the opposite unless the season ticket holders drink bovril of course - in which case - they’d prefer me I guess - love a bovril - not to turn up. (Or stop selling it would perhaps be easier)

I renewed only to get brownie points for away games; this season will have been to more away than home as most are easier to get to than ball aching drive on A35, A31, M27, A27 (who the f*** enjoys living in Chichester and driving on the A27 every day?).

The big clubs certainly see the higher potential for monetisation of tourists, yes. But I'm fairly sure that clubs like BHA recognise the long-term benefits of having the home end 90% full with season ticket holders and legacy fans.

Serious question: Has anyone actually been asked for ID at a home game? I've not been asked since they brought it in 3 seasons ago, and I've never seen anyone else challenged at the turnstiles either.

I think you're only likely to get asked if the colour that flashes up on the turnstile clearly doesn't relate to your age profile
