I would want a solid centre back pairing with two deep full backs. Both wingers have to be prepared to double up.

On that basis it would be;

Bart

Hinsh/veltman Dunk cashin/jpvh pervis

Minteh baleba ayari mitoma

Gruda/oreilly

Welbeck

That means adingra, Howell, tasker, march, gruda/oreilly, gomez, steele as most of the subs
Personally given West Ham are going to be physical I'd play Wieffer ahead of Ayari, who from what I've seen doesn't like the rough stuff much.

If Veltman & JPvH are both out..

Rushworth
Wieffer, Dunk, Baleba, Estupinan
Hinshelwood, Ayari
O'Riley
Gruda, Welbeck, Mitoma
Verbruggen and Minteh need a kick up the arse. And still think Gomez is a bit of a liability
Not being a hyper regular here I’ve missed this change of sentiment on Gomez. The last discussion I remember on him was he was a good signing with very promising passing range. What’s he done wrong again in the interim?

The guy who keeps lying down holding his face?

Just far enough away from LDC

Given i think we need to break faster from midfield i think ayari gives us that more (as does gomez).

Not sure about what’s he’s done wrong but I generally prefer him off the bench for the last 30. He hasn’t got the legs for 90 minutes and seems to have more of an impact coming on as a sub.

Hinshelwood, Ayari
Minteh, O'Riley, Mitoma
Welbeck

If JP is fit, Beleba replaces Ayari in midfield.
Likewise Veltman if fit replaces Wieffer.

Think this is best we can do.

Thoughts?

That looks the likely lineup.
And frankly it should be good enough to beat West Ham.

Also Danny likes scoring against West Ham, so he will finally make 10 for a season tomorrow!

This. 1000 times this. For the love of God stop waiting until the defence is set to finally get the ball in the box. Drive forward, keep it moving, don't overcomplicate things, shoot.
Quite why I haven't been made head coach I have no idea!
It also gets the crowd going, should be a good atmosphere at the start which will soon stop if we keep passing backwards.

JP confirmed out.
Veltman an option.

So:

Veltman, Dunk, Baleba, Estupinan
Hinshelwood, Ayari
Minteh, O'Riley, Mitoma
Welbeck

Loads of potential and much better going forward, just don't think he's up to speed defensively yet.

At fault for Villa's route one goal at the Amex earlier this month. Generally looks a bit headless when he comes on. He definitely has a role to play in the run in but maybe not as a starter in this one..

Did he mention Igor at all?

I've wondered for a while now why do managers give away who is fit or not 24 hours before the game? Why would we tell West Ham that Mitoma is fit to start? Let them find that out 75 mins before kick off.
