Not really arguing that, just that there may have been better options for him to get more minutes/build up confidence - possibly in the Championship.
I am fairly sure Potter will start him soon and he will get a lot more game time by the end of the season.

In other news than Ferguson and West Ham, James Beadle is in action tonight, up against play-off pushing Sunderland.

Edit: Beadle not getting a lot of love on the Massively entitled forum these days.

Couple of possible early starts for our loanees today.
In the Cup - Burnley (Sarmiento STARTS) visit local rivals Preston in what could be a bit of a - err - tasty encounter.
Championship - Could Cozier-Duberry get a rare start for Blackburn, at home to Norwich? ....... edit: no he doesn't, and not in the squad either.

Caylan Vickers got the second half for Mansfield (replacing the CH, so no idea how they shuffled the team around!)

I see Sarmiento started and was subbed on 68 mins today.
He’s hardly tearing up any trees at Burnley this season. Not really a Championship starter these days. I question if English football is too physical for his style of play.

Another two seasons on contract to us (sauce: Transfermarkt, so accepting no responsibility for that info!) Don't know how much we paid for him, but looking now like like one we'll offload, probably to Europe, hopefully making a few quid profit.

He was out of contract when we signed him

Was at Burton v Mansfield yesterday

First half Mansfield played 5-3-2 to match Burton - half time sub was Caylan Vickers for a centre half as they went 4-3-3

He played on left of a front three, saw loads of the ball, plenty of crosses, none in quite the right area to become an assist

Was a game of ex players - Burton own goal scored by an ex Mansfield player - a minute from time an ex Burton player won and missed a penalty for Mansfield - cue lots of "one of our own" from fans of clubs the players don't play for these days

Mansfield now eight losses and two draws in last ten games

Both Yalcouye and Scherpen played for Sturm Graz today at Salzburg. Yalcouye played on the left side of a 4-3-1-2 shape. He didn't have a big impact on the game. He was tidy enough and looks strong for considering his light frame. Scherpen is a big guy, looks very imposing. He played well, commanded his area, made a couple of very good saves, came for crosses and rushed out his area once to clear the danger. Salzburg had a 15 minute purple patch in the second half during which they scored three good goals - he wasn't to blame for any of them.

I'd be happy to see Scherpen on the bench at the Amex, but Yalcouye would be behind a long list of our current midfielders from what I saw today.

The result was 3-1 to Salzburg, our best performance of the season, but Graz are still 6 points ahead.

Do you rate Scherpen higher than Rushworth?

P.S. Thanks for the updating on the progress of our two at Sturm Graz.
