Certainly a few underwhelming loans, but if just a couple from Tzimas, Yalcouye, Osman, Ferguson, Buonanotte, and Enciso could be ready for the first 11, then that could free up our spending for defensive upgrades.

Not an outstanding season for our loanees, compared to recent seasons. No POTS out there like there have been previously, although Offiah might just make it (though he's more likely to come second at the moment). With RB Tasker travelling with the first team lately, it'll be interesting to see how Offiah does in pre-season at RB too. Lower League loans are going better than Championship ones - and there's nothing wrong with the progressing up through the leagues approach - it worked well for White and Sanchez, and may well do for Rushworth and Beadle, even though things haven't gone so smoothly for them this year.
Of the ones you mention, Osman isn't get many starts, Ferguson sadly seems broken (hope he gets mended, but.........:( ), Enciso I'm sure is off wanting to be first choice somewhere - and I don't think Buonanotte will be in the team as long as FH is the manager.

Chances for some game time tonight for Andrew Moran and Ibrahim Osman, against the Blades and PEC Zwolle respectively.
Stoke lost without needing to call on Moran; good win for Feyenoord - they didn't need Osman either - but that chap Moder keeps getting goals and assists for them; looks pretty useful!

Curious that Buonanotte signed a new contract after we appointed Hürzeler and before going out on loan then
Yeah i just see the Buonanotte loan as a development one that was agreed by all parties, rather than FH not fancying him and trying to offload.

David Weir said ''This new contract is a reflection of the season Facundo had and that we see his long-term future being here.''

Sarmiento on the bench for Burnley in the early kick off today. Wonder if he'll get any more game time now they're promoted, or whether they'll take the chance to play a few of their own youngsters.

He was barely getting any game time anyway…
True. Contract ends this summer - season extension (if one is available) or new contract? Or will he be let go? In spite of the positive spin that the Albion official loan review puts on loans (see post 1321 - "Jeremy Sarmiento enjoyed a second consecutive Championship promotion as he helped Burnley back into the Premier League") my guess is that he'll be on his way - he hasn't really shone in any of his Championship loans.

He’s still got 2 years plus an extra year’s option

I agree the club roundup is very much spin. On the whole I think the loan business this season has been dreadful.

Hadn't seen that (or didn't remember it). Transfermarkt seem to have missed it too! Still can't imagine him back at the Albion next season - another loan or a sale look the most likely.

Yes, quite a few haven't worked out well. Buonanotte's and Rushworth's turned out to be not just the right loans, Chouchane's was a failure - as was Jackson's first loan, although he's playing regularly now he's moved. O'Mahony's season has been blighted by injury.

Think Facu comes back into the fold next season. Enciso has done enough at Ipswich to get someone to spend £20m+ on him so think he'll be off in the Summer.

Agree about Enciso (but I think £20M plus is a tad optimistic); I'd like you to be right about Buonanotte - I think he's better than some of the £200M party bag we bought in the summer - but I'm not sure he will. Happy to turn out to be wrong.
