Typical - go to a meeting for 2 hours, read the two score cards when I get back and discover the trophy must be on its way to the Rose Bowl for Champions elect Lancashire.

Another dire season for Sussex, how can they let it get this bad

Mushy on fire Notts lose 3 quick wickets, they haven't seen a smash and grab raid like that in these parts since Robin Hood!

144-7.

wouldn't it have been a good idea for us to have thrown a few wickets away so Notts got their bolwing points - then they might not have batted with such steel and focus this afternoon

I've been away for an hour (at a meeting) and come back to this pitiful shambles.

Sort it out Sussex or the faint hope of catching Lancs wil be lost

the champions elect have Hants 149/4

we just did Notts 1/4

no wonder we're losers

The BBC see it as

Law top-scored for Lancashire with 79
Title-chasing Lancashire enhanced their chances of wrestling the title from Sussex by claiming maximum batting points on day two against Hampshire.
Leaders Sussex, who began eight points ahead, secured maximum batting points on the first day at Notts and added quick runs before declaring on 560-6.

In the relegation battle, Darren Lehmann's triple century took Yorkshire to a mammoth 686 against Durham.

Promotion favourites Essex took maximum batting points
