Didn't it stink of one-upmanship? Puts all the people who said we were plastic for doing it to shame o_O

Brighton
Their white flags had quite a bit of blue so the contrast was no where near as stunning.

Nothing worse than to have gone to all that effort, paid an extra quid, tried and failed to better the Amex atmosphere, only to see your side fail to deliver.

In fact the only thing worse would be to be offered a last minute reprieve from being dirty and crap - only to go and blow it.

they have been singing "Play Up Pompey" at Fratton Park for about as long as we have been murdering "GOSBTS" . After all it is their song and so gloriously open to abusive lyric changes..........

They charged for them? I thought each club had been given them FOC according to one of the football programmes (unless I've imagined it). Anyway regardless of this, thought Portsmouth's effort was a bit pathetic compared to the Albion.

I think they put one out for every seat anyway but suggested that fans donate a minimum of £1 (possibly for charity?) The whole thing was done to welcome their new owners, however they only really seemed to wave them in any sort of numbers for a few seconds before kick off - There were some big gaps too where there were no home fans. - I saw a lot of their fans with armfuls of flags after the game making their way home.

If it was for charity fair enough. Still thought it was a lame effort though compared to the Doncaster match.
