Looks like the Higher Education freedom of speech law will be repealed.

It was due to come into law in August but has widely been seen as unworkable by both Universities and Student Unions. Based on culture wars propaganda rather than actual complaints on campus, it was always going to be impossible administrate if it had ever gone through.

As in typical Starmer fashion, the UK Government has done two (in my view, good, albeit nuanced) things to shift away from unilateral support for Bibi and chums, and it will probably go unnoticed.

I’m not so sure that it isn’t going to be cheaper to have over-capacity in wind and solar and then store it. With nuclear the cost of commissioning and decommissioning is huge, plus in a finite world, where do we keep storing more and more spent fuel rods?

The Americans had already filled up Yucca Mountain by 2009 with stuff that apparently has a half-life of 650,000 years. Do I believe we can and/or will maintain this facility for 650,000 years? I do not.

Continuing to use an energy source where we have no known method for making the byproducts safe is utterly foolhardy. The best we’ve got at present appears to be KBS-3, but it seems far more cost effective to overgenerate solar/wind and store it than be messing around with this stuff.

With nuclear, any advances in technology require new plants to be built at huge expense. With solar, if panels with greater efficiency are created, they can be replaced ad-hoc as old panels fail. The renewables solution is just better.
Hinckley Point C will be out of date technology wise by the time it's finished ( if it ever gets finished!!)
Sizewell C has got the go ahead and hopefully lessons learnt from HPC will ensure a quicker and somewhat cheaper build.

So, like Farage, you seem to think that nuclear is the answer. Two questions.
First, share with us the cost of nuclear, onshore wind, solar and offshore wind.
Second, when are you expecting Hinckley to be generating energy?

Let's see if you can actually answer these questions given you failed to answer the previous one

Junior Doctors on the way to being settled.

Absolutely outrageous rise, when there is only 2% inflation.
Hold on to your hats everyone labour due to spunk money to all public sector workers, watch how inflation will be off and out of control like Starmer after a pint.🫣
Just remember what you voted for.

You won’t be saying that when you’re older, in hospital and have no one qualified to look after you.

I know plenty of "qualified" people who make mistake after mistake, they are also unaccountable, their own cover their backs the NHS is too bigger organisation which will be impossible to fund the way we'd all like.
I'm not worried about me now just my family having to live with labour lying to the country, and undoing what the Tories had just started to turn around. God bless us all.

Best of luck.

Yes, and don't forget those big fat pensions and the early retirements, and they think they have had it tough.
