How was it? Seeing them in Hove in May. New album is probably their best.

in general very good, at times it was bloody brilliant. They changed a few of their songs slightly and the singer freestyled on a few tracks as well.

You’ll have a great time I’m sure.

Good times at Kamasi Washington in the Corn Exchange last night. 2 full hours of music only slightly tarnished but a couple of over exuberant wankers behind us (or as @keaton described them, 'fucknuggets'). Thankfully they left before the end (surpirsing given how much they were seemingly enjoying themselves) allowing for a great finish including some terrific work on the keys by Brandon Coleman.

That's good time know. Last time I saw them was at Chalk and before that supporting Beak. Both full of energy and enthusiasm.

The support was a couple of girl DJs playing electroclash (remember that?) who got the limbs moving and got us into a good mood.

The boy treated me to Geordie Greep at Koko tonight, I won’t bore you with the details as I’m half cut and on a train in Palace Country.
However he was on for two hours, he’s a bit nuts and reminded me of a cross between Eoin McLove (Farther Ted) and Vincent Vega looking for a drink in Uma Thurman’s house in Pulp Fiction.
Needless to say it was a musical feast

I saw them at that Beak gig too. Beak were quite shocked and bemused and kind of recognised that they were they were actually playing the part of support act coming on after Snapped Ankles main event.

Skunk Anansie at the Dome last night. Spectacular show as to be expected, and great to see a band doing a proper UK tour rather than a handful of shows in major cities.

Just got back from seeing Willian Basinski. Didn’t really know what to expect from either the show or him other than it would be ambient. I know the Disintegration Tapes but this is all. The music doesn’t really match the person but it was very enjoyable.

Just seen Nation of Language are touring. If you like your indie synth post pop you should go.

Saw Squid at the London Roundhouse last night. Fantastic as usual. Next up: The Great Escape.

Anyone got any TGE recommendations?
That’s quite a big venue for them. Was it full? I saw them at Chalk recently and they were brilliant.
Im after some TGE recommendations too. I will be looking out for Dog Race, Westside Cowboy and The Bug Club for starters.

About 90% tickets sold for main floor standing and seats. However upper standing not put on sale from what I saw. So prob about 2.5k of tickets sold in a 3.3k cap venue. Not bad imo.

Yes Westside Cowboy and Dog Race both on my list too. I think we both saw Dog Race at Mutations Festival.

If you like Squid I’d recommend The Orchestra (For Now) at TGE.
