If you like. Was simply wondering who these people were? Straight forward question.
In my case it was me, 2 long term season ticket holder friends, the wife and a mate who’s a Liverpool fan.

I know one of the staff members in the corporate section, she said it went very well, the only complaints were that it was a bit chilly as they were in a marquee, but apparently the rest of it went very well with no problems.
Good to know. If it was a marquee (I assumed it was in the house) then I wonder if they can utilise any land closer? There’s a lot of fields at Brighton uni. Maybe set up a craft beer tent as well?
I am sure if you mail Paul Barber for your own corporate craft beer tent you will receive a 27 page mail as to why you cannot have one.
Who are all the freeloaders/prawn sandwich munchers seated in and around the new, shiny TV Box?
You seem to have a right bee-in-your-bonnet about hospitality.

Well that's clearly not true, is it? If you were 'simply wondering who these people were?', you might have typed something like "Who are the PEOPLE seated in..." as opposed to your more colourful description based on your prejudices...
Good analysis and resulting assumption.
This is the trend driven by fiscal-only objectives. Clear link to thread about dreadful atmosphere at Old Trafford.Suspect the Albion picked up the idea from Liverpool, who have off site at Aintree and other places in the city then ferry the punters to Anfield by coach. It’s very lucrative as the club restricts season tickets to just 26,000 to generate more money per head from tourists and prawn sandwich munchers.

Creeping growth of tourism and rubber-chicken corporate football at Falmer now too. Conversion of 7 Stars to 1901 East another example. Leads to more neutral and rich away fans.
A watering-down of the Community Stadium concept in my view.

I agree, and I can comment on this from a couple of aspects.I don’t have an issue with football tourism. I’ve done it myself. And I think it’s brilliant and very positive that people are prepared to come and visit the AMEX from far and wide. After all, Brighton’s chief industry is tourism. And I don’t believe it affects the atmosphere. I have said this many times but if you want an atmosphere you can create it, tourists (or all-seater stadia, modern football for that matter) are not stopping you.

I live in Hong Kong and loved it when the U23s came here last summer. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few Chinese folks wearing Albion colours. Naturally, curiosity got the better of me so I asked how they came to support Albion, given some of the more illustrious teams present. They all mentioned that they were studying locally in Brighton.
Secondly, my wife is Chinese and I took her to watch us against Wolves about 5 years ago (Vicente was playing, and I think we won 2-0). Yes, she was a tourist but it's worth remembering that there are likely a few instances like this, and just because you see someone that it foreign looking, it doesn't mean that they don't have an affiliation with the Albion.

I totally agree. It’s quite a trek from Stamner House and it’s not something I’d be interested in. They had a 100 spaces for sale, I’m curious as to what it was like.
Surely as a socialist you'd have no interest whatsoever in corporate hospitality? 'Tory scum' surely you'd make of the type of person who inhabits corporate hospitality?
Didn't realise you had to be a Tory to go to a corporate hospitality event.Surely as a socialist you'd have no interest whatsoever in corporate hospitality? 'Tory scum' surely you'd make of the type of person who inhabits corporate hospitality?
And when the Chinese eventually take over the entire World, we'll all be happy that there are a load of them who support the Albion!I agree, and I can comment on this from a couple of aspects.

Maybe, but it’s not corporate hospitality, it’s just hospitality.
Not sure you have any idea what you're on about. Should all people with socialist beliefs live like monks and give all their money to charity then?Surely as a socialist you would prefer to donate the money to a homeless charity rather than spending it on hospitality? Such a hypocrite you are the only socialist thing about you is where you put your X every 5 years.
