It could be anywhere between 0 and 12. The only thing I’m prepared to say with any certainty is it won’t be 11.

Went for 5 points before West Ham with a home win against them, then 2 home losses (Newcastle and Liverpool) and 2 away draws (Wolves and Spurs).

Based on what transpired (after 6 winless games, a much-needed victory snatched from the jaws of defeat despite another 2 goals conceded at home to a bottom 4 side), there's no plans to revise the points total just yet at least.

So it's 2. Delighted to be proved wrong of course! :)

I'm gonna say an optimistic 5. I said a couple of months back that I expected 51 and that I'd be happy with that, and as a result, I'm pretty pleased to be at that point already.

I'm going with:
Newcastle - 1
Wolves - 1
Liverpool - 0
Spurs - 3

Unless Spurs really f*** up - and I guess you wouldn't put it past them - they should have the Europa League final on the Thursday night before we play them.

So, if we do make it that far and need something from that game, they should either still be hungover or massively depressed.

Ooh, lovely. Three of the top four current form teams in our final four matches. That worked out well.
It is worth noting who they have been playing.

Wolves have played the bottom 6
Liverpool have struggled to wins against Saints/Leicester/West Ham/Everton losing to Fulham, before smashing Spurs.
Newcastle have beaten Ipswich/Leicester/United/Palace/Brentford losing to Villa. (admittedly scoring 17 goals in the process)

Newcastle is by far our toughest assignment as they are the only ones in decent form and motivated.

Think the final is on Wednesday 21st May, but your point still stands.

Silly old bat
Football is so unpredictable, which is why there are multi million pound betting companies. There is also the factor that we are a bogey team to Wolves and Newcastle despite their form.

So, I haven't a clue but it will be fun to still be in the running.

Baleba's last minute wonder goal for the win on Saturday will be a major confidence boost. Plus the squad now should have Van Hecke, Veltman & Lamptey all back to help the leaky defence.

Gone for an optimistic 7. We will beat Newcastle, lose at Wolves, draw with Liverpool and it'll all come down to the Tottenham game which we will win. 58 points, will it be enough?

I think there is a genuine possibility of NO POINTS 😶
I think zero points is more likely than 12...

However, I reckon we'll get 3 against liverpool provided Palace lose to city in the cup thus leaving 8th in play for Europe.

The others I'm not sure on. Newcastle are clearly better than us yet we've beaten them twice, Wolves are on fire but we're their bogey team and Spurs...who knows what that will be. Hopefully they'd have just lost the europa league final and everything is toxic and miserable and they just roll over.

I'm going to go for a wildly optimistic 7. Looking at Bournemouth and Fulham's remaining fixtures that would probably be plenty to finish 8th. Then it would be down to Palace getting dicked in the cup...

One thing that gives me hope is that we seem to be an ON or OFF team this season, ie our results have generally been;

WWWDWD followed by LLDDLD

rather than

WDLWDLWDL

I reckon we might be back ON for the final push.

Just far enough away from LDC
In the words of my second favourite Australian*

In my imagination, there is no hesitation........we need 9 points

But I should be so lucky.......we will get 4

I also fear the Brentford defeat will hit us in more ways than one

*big Ange is clearly the top for what he has achieved at Spurs
