[Albion] The Ticket Exchange - what's the point?

We can't make the game on Saturday and while I'd love to give our tickets to friends for nothing they don't really want to pay the £38 or whatever to become Albion+ members and I can't blame them. So that means the tickets are going on the ticket exchange where, based on previous results, I have an infinitesimally small chance of them ever selling. Great.

The point for me is that it has enabled me to recoup hundreds of pounds when I've been unable to use my tickets, and has allowed some other Albion fans to get to a game they might otherwise have missed.

I've been lucky with having quite a high success rate when I've listed my tickets on the exchange for re-sale, but I have three things in my favour:

1. I have two tickets together. Pairs seem to sell far more easily than singles.
2. My tickets are in the WSU, so are amongst the cheapest tickets available to buy.
3. My tickets are in the front row and I think most people choose to be closer to the pitch if they can.

Yes, in a scenario where there is nothing on the line and the game won't sell out, this Albion+ membership/exchange for free idea is indeed absolutely ludicrous.

The process is in need of further refinement.

So the club needs to add in some new rules for those games 'where there is nothing on the line'. How do you define nothing on the line when 3 points on Saturday could keep us in with a chance of EC?

They don't need to become Albion+ members. If they have purchase history they can buy them off the exchange, you get the money back less a pound, and if you wish for them to have a free ticket you can then give them their money back.

If they don't have purchase history you can buy the seats as guest tickets (every sth can buy four), and then follow the same steps as above.

Don't know or care really, but I'm pretty sure it could be defined by demand somehow.

For many reasons, the club doesn't want you to give away your seat. (It's not yours to give away)
Well, you've paid very good money for the use of it.

The great majority of other things in life you pay for the use of ..... I dunno, a reserved train ticket, a car parking space, a cinema ticket ....... if you choose to give them away you can and the seller couldn't care less. I understand why people get pissed off about this.

I have less sympathy for the clubs stance. They know who has paid for the seat. If I give my seat to my twat mate, who throws a haymaker at a steward, I get banned. I think that's well understood

Season tickets to these things are typically non-transferrable.

I think we've done this enough times now...

Personally, I've found the ticket exchange to be really good. Every game I haven't been able to attend so far has resulted in my ticket being resold, but I go with my son, so I'm generally selling two seats together which I suspect stand a better chance of selling

1901 Club tickets allow you to transfer your tickets to anyone for free, and pop them on the exchange if you want to flog them. If this is something which has value to you then maybe put your name down, the club are currently scouting interest for the next 5 year cycle.

As we didn’t qualify for Europe this year they’re obviously only in it for the money.

I know its all been said before but, at this stage of the season, with the club apparently wanting to fill seats (its not all about the money, hmm) who is going to want to fork out Albion+ membership, for a month so surely it would make sense for a STH to be able to pass on their seat for nothing, like 1901ers can, even if its for say the last 3 or 4 games of a season. The ticket exchange can stay the same if the STH wants their 1/19thx90% back if it sells.

This has been done to death on numerous occasions. You CANNOT give your season train ticket to someone else to use. Well, you could ... and face the consequences.
