Sadly, following the shower I'd imagine the temp will now drop like a stone. As soon as they take the covers off, it will freeze. the forecast is for it to reach -3C by 5pm.

The shower? no idea - it could potentially disappate before it gets to BN world.

In terms of the frost, a thin cover of snow would have actually helped, as it would have protected the ground from the penetrating frost.
