Sports massage / deep tissue massage is one of the most painful things to go through. The lightest touch in the right place can put you on the ceiling
I used to have them regularly when I was running long distances…….would turn up, he’d say ‘any issues ?’ ‘No mate, just need loosening up……no niggles, knots or anything this time’

5 mins later I’d be crying in pain (literally sometimes) because he’d found what appeared to be a stray golf ball in my calf/quad/hammy that ‘needed breaking up’ 😳🤣😭

It was always the Iliotibial band for me. I’d almost shoot off the table. The girl I used to go to when running would look me straight in the eye when she was about to get her elbow into it … and then laugh at my reaction.

That too....ITBS was my first running injury. I had a sore hip so went to see the physio at work.......

Told me it wasn't my hip
Told her it definitely was
She 'manipulated' my hip. 'That hurt ?'
'Nope'
Gradually worked her way down my leg, same question and answer.

Knuckles in just above the knee, I nearly went through the ceiling

'told you it wasn't your hip' 🤣
