In the land of many very stupid people who have access to as many weapons as a small army, then any use of metaphors, no matter how clearly they are in context not literal, then it is probably worth not using bullseye, crosshairs, target, going after, getting rid of, or any allusion to a literal interpretation.

However to conflate Trump’s part in Jan 06 and not accepting an election defeat, to the use of ‘bullseye’ in a clear reference to an election race (note it’s not actually a race, that’s a metaphor, maybe a similie …) is a bit ridiculous.

I was taught that the way to remember it was that people who don't know the difference between a metaphor and a simile are thick shits as opposed to being thick as shit.





(I'm sure you realise that this isn't meant as an insult but given the nature of some discussions on here nowadays I want to make it clear that it isn't)

I'm not sure that's possible. If a bullet were travelling at the correct angle to make a hole like that, it would have hit his head. If the bullet was whizzing past his head, it would have taken more of his ear.

I do try to stay upbeat, but I'm increasingly drawn into thinking that the world (and us with it) is nearing the end.
Now, whether to spaff my savings on wine, women and song, before it's too late, or keep the faith?

It's probably real but because of who it is you can't help but question it..

It’s hard to imagine, even when it involves Trump, that a shot being fired so close to his head would be anything by a genuine attempt to take him out. Sounds like a major secret service f*** up though.

If the bullet was moving parallel to the side of his head, passing through his ear from the front or the back, it seems reasonable that it would make this wound.

Perhaps it went through his ear hole and out the other side.

A little more for the conspiracy theorists: According to the BBC article, the gunman had no ID on him and has been identified by the FBI using DNA. Quick work from the feds there, I wonder if they had his DNA on file already? And if so, why?

Don't think I've ever seen someone being shot in the ear, but this is exactly what I expect it would look like

The suspected shooter at yesterday’s rally shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, had explosive devices in his car, the Wall Street Journal reports.

According to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to the outlet, the car with the reported devices was parked near the rally where Donald Trump addressed a crowd before his assassination attempt.
