So, is it 6 games to play now?

10 games, each play one another home and away. Fixtures were announced earlier today.

I read they are dispensing with this end of season format in a couple of years. The league will expand to 18 teams and run to a traditional format.

I believe next season will be the last with playoffs. From the 26-27 season the league will expand to 18 clubs and play a regular season of 34 games rather than the current 30+10 play off games. Part of the reasoning appears to be the expanded European competitions and the worries over fixture congestion with a 40 game season.

Be fairly ironic if they win the Belgium league after not finishing first over the regular season !

I understand that common sense is taking over the season after next & the league will resort to the usual European format.

Given that USG have finished first in the regular season for 2 of the previous 3 years (coming 2nd 2 years ago), yet have failed to top the playoffs in any of those seasons, it would be a 'fair' result.

I agree it would be totally fair but my point was there best chance to win it seems to be this season when they didn’t top the table
