I went last night to the U21 match. Jack played 60 minutes on the right of midfield, wasted there really. He will be fine for the weekend given that he had perhaps 15 touches of the ball which were mainly just short passes and a couple of one-twos with his team mates, a bit of jogging around and maybe two tackles. It was all pretty low intensity stuff.

Beadle played the first half and looked pretty assured on the whole, he made a couple of decent stops and his distribution was ok (although he fudged a couple of passes). He was certainly more involved than Jack.

Enjoyable game, I liked the interaction between the majority WBA fans and Wolves player Fabio Silva (who was the best player on the pitch in my opinion).
Agree - I watched part of the match online, and it seemed that he was out on the right while 80-90% of England's attacking went down the left. Better for Beadle than the France match though - hopefully that half he played will have laid any ghosts he might have been carrying over from a couple of goals where he could have done better.
If indeed he's not more than capable of putting such things behind him!

See Japan drew with Saudi Arabia. Had a look at their table and then stumbled on the qualifying process for Asia!! Bloody complicated.

Format

[edit]
The qualification format was announced on 1 August 2022, having been revamped to fit the increased finals allocation of eight direct qualifiers and one play-off qualifier:[4][5]

  • First round: 20 teams (ranked 27–46) played home-and-away over two legs. The ten winners advanced to the second round. The best loser qualified for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualification third round, while the remaining teams qualified for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualification – play-off round.
  • Second round: 36 teams (ranked 1–26 and ten first-round winners) were divided into nine groups of four teams. The teams played against each other on a home-and-away basis. The nine group winners and group runners-up advanced to the third round and automatically qualified for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The remaining teams qualified for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualification third round.
  • Third round: 18 teams which advanced from the second round were divided into three groups of six teams. The teams will play against each other on a home-and-away basis. The top two teams of each group qualify directly for the FIFA World Cup, the third- and fourth-placed teams advance to the fourth round.
  • Fourth round: Six third- and fourth-placed teams from the third round are divided into two groups of three teams each. The teams will play against each other once in a centralized venue. The winners of each group qualify for the World Cup, and the runners-up of each group advance to the fifth round.
  • Fifth round: The group runners-up in the fourth round will compete home-and-away over two legs to determine the Asian representation at the inter-confederation play-offs.[2]

Pedro benched - but with an eye on Saturday, Forest’s Murillo starts for the first time!

Estupinan starts.

Gomez and Enciso start.

Gomez essentially played the whole match for Paraguay (and got an assist from a corner), so there’s little chance he starts on Saturday given his fitness levels.

Estupinan played 80 minutes and was subbed. I can’t see anything to suggest it was because of injury. Ecuador fans seemed to be giving him mixed reviews. Now get him home and resting so he can go again on Saturday.

Did we ever get an answer to how many forest first teamers were on international duty?

Bloody frustrating we have 3 matches in a week now with half the team jet lagged and knackered

Of the XI who started Forest's last league game, against Ipswich, Wood (reportedly injured), Gibbs White (no minutes), Elanga, Anderson, Williams, Murillo, Milenkovic, Aina, and Sels.
