I listen quite often to the Radio Sussex commentary .
Yesterday I thought Warren Aspinall’s continual criticism of Yankubah Minteh was disgusting. Yes I agree he is a very frustrating player to watch but the way he’s singled out for criticism by Aspinall in nearly every game is uncalled for and I think he should be told about it.

I’ve not listened to WA for ages but heard him speak at a supporters club thing this season and thought he revelled in singling out players for unfair criticism.

You think he’s down on Minteh. Ask him his opinion on Enciso and Pedro…

He says what he sees, quite a rarity in today's ooooh I can't say that world of woke,I agree sometimes this comes over as non constructive criticism but hes just saying what others see but don't say or say it but do not have the platform Warren has.

Yankuba is a raw talent and will learn with experience I've no doubt of that, telling a player oh your fabulous fine and dandy is simply not true yet,but it will be.

I really don't want to listen to a yes man who bangs on how good we are when there's obviously something not right going on,Warren has his faults as do we all but he's a bloody good egg and certainly not for the PC Scrapheap IMO

Football is as much a game of opinions as it is, err, about football.

If he has said something factually untrue about a living person the law of slander is there to protect and correct said person.

I don't think WA needs to apologise for having an opinion, even if that opinion happens not to align with yours.....

TBH @Bexhill gull i share his frustration….

He’s a young player with a lot to learn, a lot of NSCers were going completely over the top on the Minteh thread in terms of current ability.

He has a long way to go IMO.
WA is paid to give his opinions - and he usually, IMHO, seems to know what he's talking about. We paid a lot of money for Minteh, and he hasn't really developed much this season - in recent weeks indeed he seems to have gone back from where he was when he first replaced Adingra.

I used to be a big fan but I found he was starting to get very negative. I have not listened to him for a long long time though.

Whilst alost of what he says is fair it’s true he’s like a dog with a bone. Last week he was doing it and didn’t mention Adingra who was far worse in my opinion.

I had the misfortune of listening to the Palace game for the first time in years via the website commentary... it was awful. No effort to describe what was actually happening on the pitch. Probably just as well considering.

He's played at the highest level, has an 86/87 Championship medal with Everton
Probably factually correct but you are being very generous here Lenny. Most of the clubs/matches he played were certainly not “ highest level”

2 England youth caps, signed by both Howard Kendall and Graham Taylor for Everton and Villa respectively, he played 477 games in the all four divisions of the FL, nearly half of those appearances in the top two leagues, but by his own admission he ‘f***ed’ his career with his extra curricular activities, if anyone is in a position to warn young players about the pitfalls it’s him.
