Peace Kills - America's Fun New Imperialism by P.J O'Rourke

His usual take on the Worlds ills but he goes there unlike many journalists and writes about what he finds.

Wonderfully funny but also deeply sad when he seriously takes on the American viewpoint of the World.

You can see where Trump came from...

The Cartel by Don Winslow. Like a bleaker, unromanticised Mexican version of the godfather. Based around the U.S's war on drugs, told from multiple view points.

The second of Winslow's Cartel trilogy. The first - Power of the dog - is excellent and this is shaping up to be just as good.

I absolutely loved the Cartel trilogy.

I have read a lot of Don Winslow over the years, a very good author.
I have got his newest trilogy ( City in ruins) backed up on the kindle ready for a less busy time in my life. Unfortunately, he has now stopped writing, he wants to devote more time to politics, he’s very anti Trump.
L am hoping he will go back to story telling, he really is wasting his talent.

Onto the third Hornblower book. Don’t understand a lot of the terminology still but the storytelling is fantastic and they are what you might call GRIPPING.

Currently emptying out some bookshelves but this is definitely NOT getting recycled.

Classic BBC History Series and the book is equally as good.

In this “unmissable book” (The Guardian), an internationally renowned forensic psychiatrist and psychotherapist demonstrates the remarkable human capacity for radical empathy, change, and redemption.
