to follow on from the BEST thread. think there has to be some sort of guideline, in that it has to be to watch a professional team - no prize either for the first person to post a picture of withdean

Darlington was when we went there some years ago in the pouring rain but I think that it has been rebuilt now or they have a new ground. Closely followed by The McCain Stadium at Scarborough when they were in the league.

Did you go to the one few years later that was postponed on the Saturday due to waterlogged pitch and then the same thing happened at 7.00pm on either the Tuesday or Wednesday evening when it was due to be played.

Fortunately no to both!
Had escaped to university by then and unless I was home for the weekend or the Albion were playing in the midlands I'd normally watch Frank Worthington, Keith Weller et al down at Filbert Street.

Macclesfield circa 2000 was pretty poor. Tiny and didn't halp that half of it was being redeveloped at the time. Sure it's better now, but it was pants then.

Got to be Layer Road for me, but going to Luton this season and I'm not expecting that to be much better.

Yes to both games and the one that Alex is referring too. It was a hill not a slag heap. They did build a terrace on that bit after that.

I hate Stoke even though the Britannia is a newish stadium as it is open at the ends , the wind whistles through, and it was freezing. It is also soul less. Port Vale for the same reason (and it's unfinished)

Layer Road is pretty bad but I reckon the worst was Cambridge Utd's - the Abbey Stadium? Dreadful view and primitive conditions.

The old grounds at Walsall and Doncaster were pretty poor, however both teams have moved onwards and upward and I am looking forward to visiting both this season.
