I’ll try that one next time I want some time off work mid-project to go to the Maldives. It’s not a holiday, boss!

But in all seriousness he knows his players and their needs. Hopefully it pays dividends

Implies it was a break given to those players who'd been on international duty. Makes sense as the players who aren't on duty usually get a few days off at the start of the international break so this is just giving the same break to the rest of the squad.

Reminds me of when Gary Neville discovered holidays but didn’t know what they were called.

He was discussing injuries to players in the latest episode of the Overlap, and said if players sign for a team then they should commit and move local to the area. The idea of players living outside the area and driving to training, games would exacerbate injuries to hamstrings, backs etc.
We must buy them cheap accommodation in Scotland.

He just disappeared off my Peacock screen and now I have Forest & Everton.

EDIT: I lost my Peacock altogether. (That's what she said)

Maybe should’ve taken extra shooting practice instead of lazing by a pool

Converting penalties and rolling around on the floor instead of scoring. As always. If it wasn't for the Instagram pictures, I'd have assumed we just put him in a freezer and defrosted him five minutes before the game.

Playing frankly ridiculous looking flicks in the centre circle at 2-1 which give the ball away like we’re 5-1 up
