That can’t be right. Loads of fans telling FH that he didn’t know what he was doing when he subbed Danny off this afternoon and then chanting ‘where’s our striker gone’
Well he didn’t yesterday, but that was sensible because Welbeck was limping after a knock in the first half.

I feel like I’m watching different games to other people (although I only watch the home games unless the away games are on TV).

In terms of pressing, holding the ball, getting us up the pitch, there’s literally no one better at any of those things in our side. He’s often the focal point and trigger of our press too. He’s probably the one attacker we currently have who could step up to that top 4 level team and not look out of place.

Saying that, he was an idiot yesterday, of that there’s no doubt.
Don’t disagree with a lot of this.

But yesterday he played for himself, and one early cross apart, was more interested in taking people on than playing teammates in.

As for the sending off….. pillock.

He’s one of our best players, yes not as good as last season when he was on fire, but let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater, let’s get him back to his peak levels. Yes he can be a baby at times
Remind me how many goals and assists last season excluding pens?

I remember him being good in Europe but that was mostly Vs championship/relegation standard epl players.

Totally frustrated with him over the last couple of months.

He is ineffective out on the left wing and a liability as he drifts towards left wing back when we are effectively chasing the game.

How much of this is creative freedom and how much is managerial tactics we may never know, but it isn't working and a few games without him, may allow us to find a better way to play.

Agree with all of that. There’s been a wierd anti Joao Pedro sentiment on here for a lot of the season which I don’t understand. He’s a brilliant player and for the vast majority of the time his attitude is spot on despite the fact he gets kicked and battered all game every week because he is so skilfull.

I saw a few Athletic writers put him in their ‘under rated team of the season’ this week. I think they’re spot on. He’s under rated by our own fans. Can’t believe so many are keen to move him on, he’d be a huge loss and almost inpossible to replace. He won’t be fully appreciated until he is gone by the looks of it though.

But then it’s always been the case with British football and Brighton fans. We always tend to under-appreciate the gifted, mercurial talents who do the the things that most players could only dream of and prefer the workhorses who’s contribution is sometimes more obvious. Just look at the history of our POTS.
I will definitely miss those backheel flicks to no-one in particular and those runs into three opposition players which always result in a turnover when a simple pass was on.

Very talented player with an under-developed footballing brain.

I don't doubt that on his day he is very talented. I can't remember the game when he was made captain but he was inspirational. However, of late he looks disinterested and more interested in his media profile. I should imagine that if he leaves he will blossom into a very good player and yet another player we will wish had stayed.

Depends what’s meant by top 4. I can’t see him being wanted by the likes of Liverpool, Arse, Citeh or Chelsea. Forest or Newcastle maybe.

Joao Pedro is a 4-3-3 player. Stick him on the left side in a side like Liverpool, he'll look a player

Our trouble is, with Mitoma as a nailed on starter on one position, we can't really do this

I get the impression he thinks he is doing us a favour by being here. Players like him tend to be poison in the dressing room, and I think that weird decision to give him the captaincy was an attempt at placating him which clearly didn't work.

Don't really want to see him playing for us again tbh.
